    Home studio corner Rocks!!!
Thank you so much for having a show like this! It really helps me gain knowledge to add to my toolbox. You have inspired me to build my home studio and I am writing more music than ever! Also I would love to check out your mix class. I use Logic Pro but a lot of stuff translates. Thanks again can’t wait for the next podcast!

Great platform for listeners to get much needed advice, was happy it came back, and then left so quickly. This is a great way to have a weekly session of learning, submit questions if needed, or hear others so you can keep moving forward. So. Great podcast - let’s bring it back!

    Informative and Entertaining!
I first came across Home Studio Corner many moons ago before taking a recording hiatus for years. I was so glad to come back and find him still at it with his signature self-deprecating humor (highly relatable) and wealth of practical knowledge. It truly feels like having a good buddy show you the audio engineering ropes. He’s just a real dude, an honest dude. Anybody seeking something of a single information dense spot for all things recording/mixing, HSC is your spot. Keep up the excellent work, Joe!

    Great Podcast! Very knowledgeable
Having been a freelance session musician for almost 40 years and working in hundreds of situations you can tell when a guy really knows his stuff. Joe is the real deal , I highly recommend.

    Entertaining and informative!
I’m just getting back into writing/recording music after a 10+ year hiatus. Hours of articles and YouTube videos (we all know how that goes) lead me to look for a podcast on home recording. I’ve checked out quite a few but Joe’s caught my eye because of his 2+ year hiatus. This show is by far my favorite, sort of like hearing a buddy that’s into home recording spout off about whatever is on his mind. But Joe still has plenty of helpful insights and experiences to answer questions on all aspects of writing and recording. A great mix of information and entertainment. Keep it up Joe!

    The Best
I have been listening too, learning from, and being mentored from afar by Joe Gilder, for going on Four years now. It would be impossible to begin to list all of the the things I have learned from him on a musical and production level. I am who I am today as an artist, recording engineer, mix engineer and an home studio production enthusiast, primarily because of Joe. His method of teaching and ability to relate to the common struggles that most of us as creators of our art have, is refreshing. He is courageously transparent and honest about his own insecurities both musically and personally. I have never met Joe personally, but I feel he is not only my friend, but my brother. Thank you, brother for all you have taught me about music, and about life. “Stay Inspired”-Dewey Paul, Jr

    Cannot recommend enough!!!
I have followed Joe for over 10 years since I was 11 years old. I have learned so much from over the years and sooo appreciate his focus on songwriting and music arrangement first and foremost and getting a recording right from the source rather than laboring to fix things in the mix. He has a phenomenal ear for songwriting and arranging and mixing and mastering! I really appreciate Joe and all he does for the home studio owners and songwriters! Thank you Joe!!!!

This is all you need to get started
This is it. This is where you start. There is no better educator audio production when it pertains to getting the best out of your home recording studio and making phenomenal music with it. At least for me, I went through a bunch of fantastic YouTubers dedicated to recording and mixing and this was where I put my bag down and sat down with a cup of coffee and essentially learned the bulk of what I know from. I had to go thank him in person and he was amazing. Hands down folks this here is as good as it gets.

Love Home Studio Corner and Joe Gilder!
The thing about Joe Gilder is that he IS just like you and I. He operates his business to the best of his ability and documents his progress daily. He has created produced some great sounding music, he has found success with reaching out through YouTube, all the while keeping his family life completely in tact. I consider Joe a mentor and have followed his teachings and life lessons for years. Subscribe to this podcast if you like talking audio and the practicality of a home based studio AND for other great tips on business, songwriting, blogging, being a dad, etc!

Great podcast - fun & informative
I have been a fan of Joe and Home Studio Corner since at least 2009. Joe, his site, and his podcast have been a big part of my journey into home recording and mixing. Great podcast. I'd recommend it for anyone interested in the subject.

    Great for home studio people
Joe is great. Ask any question and get the real deal. I love that his advice is always about getting the best results with what you have. He doesn't allow us to think we have an excuse to not create music because may not have the most expensive equipment. BOOM!

    Awesome
If you do home recording, this podcast is a must!

    Great Podcast
Joe is a tremendous resource for any and all aspiring, experienced home studio mixing engineers. His knowledgable, clear, concise delivery and easy going persona makes for a good listen. My only (2) complaints are that he doesn’t have a “Home Songwriting Corner” podcast and Hilel from NY has too many good questions :)

    Joe, you da man!
Just because it's free, that doesn't mean it lacks any information or is low quality. Home studio corner tutorials, podcasts, websites, and advice are top notch and extremely helpful! I have gained a ton of knowledge through your services. Thank you so much for taking the time in helping us! Keep up the great work!

    Loving HSC
Hi Joe, Have been loving HSC for a couple of months. While really a raw amateur, you have encouraged (motivated?) me to do some simple voice and guitar recording experiments. Hoping to get better! Thanks! Vic -- Gilbert, AZ

    Just my style
I've been listening to Joe for a couple years and this podcast has really set a direction for my 'other' life. I'm a half-assed musician, but love hearing others play. Always wanted to be more involved and looking for a second career to slip into when I retire (hopefully) in less than 5 years. This podcast has been perfect guidance, and the basic concepts of sound and engineering have helped in my newly elected (got volunteered!) position running the sound for our community concert association. He also has a good head on his shoulders and sense of humor without an over inflated ego. I've bought most of his courses like 'Understanding EQ, Mixing, Recording Guitars,' etc. I do these at my own pace and am really getting a great understanding of work flow and the things that are not readily apparent in recording and mixing music. These courses are an amazing value - if you practice and take the time to follow thru. - Thanks Joe and keep up the good work.

    Big fan of Joe
Home Studio Corner is one of the few resources out there (along with The Recording Revolution) that offers practical, actionable advice to home studio owners and advocates skill over spending. Love the podcast for staying motivated every week and to hear what's challenging other studio folk out there. Keep up the great work, Joe!
  • H-A Forgiven
    Wonderful free information
Joe is great at what he does and very knowledgeable about audio! Great podcast for anybody working in a home studio! Best part is that almost all the advice he gives you can apply to your work for free, no new gear needed! Get it right at the source! Thanks, Joe!

An essential part of my week

    Great podcast
Guys like Joe are lifesavers. I can't tell you how many times I've tried to figure out how to do something while recording and Joe or Graham Cochran have already made a video or podcast about it. This podcast is great for learning new techniques or thinking about things in a new way. It's also nice to know that so many have the same questions that I do. A+
  • pablatone
    Excellent podcast
I've been doing home recording since they started making 4track cassette recorders. I do it just as a hobby for the most part. The thing I like about this podcast is the encouragement Joe consistently gives to "try it" and see if it works. It's not a super technical podcast nor does he try to sell the latest gear or plug-in. His philosophy is to learn how to get the best sound out of what you already have before you get the new stuff. I can highly recommend this podcast.

    Great Podcast!
I have been listening for 8 months or so, and love the podcast! I spent most of a drive from Ohio to Chicago (and back) catching up on old episodes. Joe does a great job of breaking down difficult concepts into terms able to be understood by listeners of all levels of recording expertise.
  • BasdenChris
    Newbie? Don't worry!
I am brand new to DAW recording, and a novice at best at recording in general. I discovered these podcasts by way of Joe's YouTube videos (Incredible tutorials on Studio One, as well as a lot of the same lessons and principles you get from this podcast!) I've owned my interface and software for all of a week, and after podcast-binging all day today (that's right, who needs Netflix?) I feel a whole lot more comfortable with the huge beast that it recording/mixing! I'll spend the weekend trying to apply everything I can remember from these (as well as Joe's other podcast, Simply Recording, which is more focused than the Q&A format of HSC) and working toward the best sounds I can make!

Great Info for a frustrating commute!
I live in Sunny Southern California. The weather is beautiful. The traffic is terrible. This is where Joe's podcasts come in! I listen to the HSC podcast every Tuesday on my commute home from work, and it makes the 1 hour that it takes to travel only 17 miles actually enjoyable! I like Joes personable approach and the format of the show is great. If you don't have a maddening commute, this podcast is still awesome and worth checking out.

    So Good
This is an excellent podcast. I have had tons of questions answered and lots I didn't even know I had. It's great to go back and listen again because new things come up and odds are Joe has covered it, and if not he certainly will do his best to do so. Thanx Joe.

    Tasty Bits of Encouragement
Every new episode is like a present. Good tips. Easy to try. Joe picks out questions that when answered can help anyone make a better recording or mix.

    Ask Joe!
Down to earth advice on home recording techniques. If you have a question... just ask Joe. (Now in 75 words or less) Joe Gilder answers questions weekly taken from questions submitted to his website, Home Studio Corner. He also has joined with Graham Cochrane for the Simply Recording Podcast. Joe has been featured as a guest on several different home recording podcast including Inside Home Recording with Dave Chick, and Home Recording Show with Ryan Canestro and Jon Tidey. He also has a Simply Recording Academy that is run out of Nashville, in which they have a "hands on" weekend recording session. I'm hoping to attend that one day. Thanks for podcasts Joe and keep them coming!!

    HSC
The podcast is incredible and sound (no pun intended) advice is given here, but if you want to take your mixes to the next level then check out his site. I must say I am thoroughly pleased as to the quality of guidance he has to offer. When other musicians (and engineers) tell you that your mixes are sounding real good you know that you are on the right track and that is all thanks to a skilled mentor. Thanks Joe for sharing your knowledge with the audio community!! -Tal Zionstrumpeter Recording Studio
