John 00 Fleming presents JOOF Radio

Calling John’s life in electronic music anything less than extraordinary would be a considerable understatement. Over the last two decades he’s been behind 30 music-compilations and artist albums, which have sold cumulatively in excess of 10 million copies. Of which 10 of his mix compilations and five single releases have made the UK’s national Top 40 (on major labels including Virgin, EMI and Warner Music), whilst his most recent club tracks have resulted in a succession of Beatport top 10 chart positions. As a DJ his club, arena & festival showings are legion. Everywhere from the UK’s Ministry of Sound and GodsKitchen to Cielo and Avalon in the US (and most points in between) have played host to his night-to-dawn sets. He’s also a mainstay at festivals like Global Gathering, Dance Valley, Serbia’s Exit, Brazil’s Exxxperience, Australia’s Future Music, Belgium’s Tomorrowland and EDC. He’s soundtracked a number of Hollywood film & TV productions, most recently scoring 'The Colour Of Time' - the James Franco/Mila Kunis/Jessica Chastain-starring biog of Pulitzer winner C.K. Williams. He’s composed music for various BBC movies, dramas & shows (inc. BBC2’s world-spanning Top Gear), as well as for ones as for channels as diverse as Discovery, National Geographic and MTV. John’s a regular at London’s Abbey Road studios, where he’s previously worked with the illustrious Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. Labelled “a national treasure of trance music” by Radio 1’s Pete Tong, John has dropped his brand of underground science at more than 160 venues over the last three years. His record label J00F Recordings and his radio show, JOOF Radio (broadcast on DI. FM) provides the most diehard of fanbases’ with their monthly fix of J00F.

ALL TIME FAVORITE - 22 YEARS AND COUNTING
There is no other artist that has captured me the way that Fleming has. Since that first time hearing Global Trance Grooves on di.fm and streaming from Ministry of Sound’s website circa 2002 (having first seen Fleming at raves and clubs in person before and many times after), it has been my go-to for GREAT music and his style and quality is simply unmatched. Whether driving, sleeping, exercising, working, Fleming’s mixes and his amazing guests are always just what the doctor ordered. Never gets old.

    Joof & Pharmacy
The Joof episode 025/ Pharmacy 065 combo was a real treat- maybe they can do this every 6 months or annually! So good to hear from 2 very different areas, led to similar music pathways. It was as enjoyable as it was informative! Thank you all for who was able to make this happen.

    Breath-taking, head-shaking assembly
Where have you been all my listening life? Fleming moves like few others. And just when I would say I’ve heard them all, I realize I have not. His movements behind such well-curated instruments range from cinematic to orchestral and the transition between them are seamless. I love you, man!!!!

    Loving every single episode
I’ve started listening to this podcast on early 2019, and man I waiting for it every month. By mid of 2019 the sound of the podcast became more clear to me, and John kept on moving on a lane of magical dark tunes that I can’t help but love it from the bottom of my heart. At early 2020, the radio show dropped the “trance” word and that just made it better and better, John did went above and beyond with his amazing sound and really nailed it. It’s the only podcast that keeps on surprising me with every episode, and failed to bore me or disappoint my expectation. Really great work. Salute to John and the JOOF Family.

Thank You John Fleming, for the REAL Trance (and not just more mass produced EDM).
Remember the deep Trance with driving bass rhythms, with layers of crescendo and decrescendo synth and waves of progressive, when the tracks were each a brief elation of sound and a journey into the sound itself? Remember trance when it branched from Techno and before it was wrongfully labeled into the EDM category? Remember deep Trance originals like “Take The Long Way Home” by Faithless, “Imagine” by AVB, and “Exceed” from the Junk Project Vol. II collection, and Digital Blonde’s high tempo melodic and rhythmic cuts? Well, that’s the style of Trance you’ll find on this tremendous and fantastic to the core, podcast!

    Exquisite mixes
The "worst" of these podcasts are still utterly amazing. Quality is outstanding throughout, the production is sublime and stands up marvelously to detailed listening through good headphones, as well as to long drives etc etc... The ebb and flow of the mixes are totally on point. I've been a fan of J00F for well over a decade, and these podcasts don't disappoint. John's unpretentious and unconditional love of the music really comes through. It's astounding that all this is free to download, it's gotta be a loophole! Keep up the incredible work!

    My favorite Podcast
Really digging his mixes and productions. If you're looking for some great running sounds these Podcasts always send some adrenaline rush for that runner's high experience. By the time you reach the guest mix you forgot how many miles you've done.

    Awesome and thanks John!
Some good stuff here! Keep up the good work!
  • Dazed but clear
    No fluff here!
John Fleming is excellent! Dark, dirty, and down to business. You won't hear any fluffy trance by numbers sort of tracks. If you love trance the way it should be then this is it!!

    Bloody Genuis
John '00' Fleming is a bloody genius. This is the best trance music you can find. Flawless mixes, unreal production, if you don't like this something is wrong with your brain.

    Absolutely top quality
I listened to psy-trance for a bit in like 2001-2002 and then forgot about it. This podcast brings a whole new deep element to the genre that I'd never heard before. Now I wait for every new episode, and I've listened to the older episodes as well. My favorite right now is from June 09 (00+DB mashup). You just can't get mixing like that in some of the other trance podcasts out there (Looking at you, TATW...). The rest feel like a playlist, this feels like a journey. Epic win, 00! Keep it going :)

One of the best out there....
JOOF is by far one of the best mixers out there. It is truly amazing how much the electronic music style has changed over the last few years, and Fleming keeps his technique in tune and in style. Amazing all around. Cheers
