The Teacher’s Pet creator Hedley Thomas returns with a new podcast investigation for The Australian.

Bronwyn Winfield disappeared 31 years ago from the idyllic surf town of Lennox Head. She was a devoted mother of two little girls, and was going through a painful separation from her husband, Jon Winfield.

Jon Winfield has always maintained Bronwyn just went away and denies any wrongdoing.

Same episode on repeat

It’s a shame because The Teacher’s Pet was incredible, albeit probably way too long…but I feel like I’ve hear the SAME EXACT content and story now for like 10 straight episodes. Let me know when you have something new here. Would love to get this guy in jail!

I love how tenacious he is. I am praying they get justice for her. I’m so angry that he got to live his life and watch her children grow up. Justice delayed is justice denied.

Repeating Statements

I’m saddened and intrigued by this tragic story and believe the husband should be in jail. However, I’m not sure why the same things such as witness statements are repeated over and over — sometimes in the same episode! Is anyone editing? I’ve been listening to podcasts for years and have never experienced this before. I understand a need for a recap but this is not recapping and instead saying the same exact story multiple times.

So, so, so repetitive

The story is good but it’s so frustrating to listen to. I’ve thought about giving up so many times. The constant repeat of information and the never ending references to the Teachers Pet podcast that aren’t relevant to this story is hard to take. It’s way too long, I think they get paid per episode and are trying to milk it for all it’s worth!!

Want so much justice for brownyn and his neighbor!

Just finished the gothic episode and I am just as mad as Madi Walsh. This is the problem with never bringing men like John to justice—they keep abusing and escalate their violence against women. That poor woman and her family (neighbor) were swindled and who knows if her illness got progressively worse bc of his sudden involvement in her life. Brownyn and her deserved so much better. Shame on his daughter for helping him that sad excuse of funeral services. Taking notes of her family? Straight weirdo behavior.

Loved all of the prior podcasts, but this season seems to be a lot of waffle about not much. For example, so much effort on the flight schedule and timing of calls - to what end? Not like that’s going to land him in prison anyway.

Stumbled upon The Teacher’s Pet and have since devoured everything by Hedley. Bronwyn is another example of thoughtful and thorough long form journalism. Really appreciate how he handles sensitive topics. 5 stars! Can’t wait for episode 11!!

I love this podcast and want to scream each time I look to see if a new episode is finally out instead of being exclusively available on The Australian (which by the way I couldn’t get to work even when I tried being a paid subscriber). Please release episode 11. I’ve been waiting for sooo long.

Yet another brilliant podcast from Hedley. I really hope Bronwyn’s family, most of all her children, find justice and her killer is put behind bars for good. Looking forward to the next episodes after the break in production! Well done guys 👏🏼

Interesting but way too many episodes

Sad story of another spouse in this case the husband having something to do with the death of the missing wife but way to much detail and too many episodes keep it short and to the point!

This podcast is interesting enough and well done but I swear they bring up The Teachers Pet nearly every episode for some reason. Don’t get me wrong, I loved that podcast but it seems so distracting and maybe a bit corny to keep bringing it up?

Hedley, as usual, provides information, evidence from all parties & his own insight as a journalist. I have followed all of his podcasts & found each one different, but all very well investigated & thoughtfully presented. 10/10 ⭐️s. Highly recommend!
