    Yikes
The characters are written to be annoying, immature kids who either talk to each other like brats half the time, or talk to themselves to deliver exposition. They don’t sound like professional adults who know how to handle themselves. I think there were a grand total of two semi-professional conversations from what I heard. There are pauses with dead air for a long enough time to make me think I lost connection. The sound mixing and sound effects are awful, too. I connected to my car’s Bluetooth to listen while driving to work, and I’m having to turn my volume up higher than I’ve ever had it, only to find myself still straining to hear some of the characters. In the next moment, my eardrums are shocked with a sudden BEEP without any warning of it coming. I stopped partway through the fourth episode and can’t continue. Good concept; a shame.

    Meh
Story/plot seems to be fantastic. Quality of acting leaves much to be desired. I am most curious why the characters have the personalities of teenagers. Sounds like it was recorded on a phone using free sound bites for the FX.

    Intriguing, Engaging, Original
Black Box presents a scifi mystery from found footage, where we as the audience know Something Bad Happens, and we have to watch it play out each episode, waiting to find out what went wrong. It’s an engaging story with endless mystery and delightful, well-round, and exceptionally voiced characters. The story it seeks to tell and how it’s presented to us as the audience is original, and I’m intrigued more each episode. I love this podcast and highly recommend it to anyone who loves spooky mysteries!
