️TNR supporterLove Nordstrom and love this podcastNordstrom is my favorite store, it’s one of the few department type stores that isn’t corporate owned anymore. Family owned which I appreciate so much, they are very generous also in supporting animal rescues in the Seattle area. They support other causes too and it really does seem like they care about their customers. Contrary to what some think, they do also carry affordable items. I really enjoy this podcast, I find it interesting and I am not really interested in business things. It’s easy to listen to and Pete has a good voice for podcasts. I hope they will continue this podcast⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I would love an episode where you talk to a few of the nonprofits you support especially in Seattle, especially animal rescues such as Purrfect Pals.

dwjr206Impressive!Had the chance to meet Pete, and his lovely wife, last Saturday at the SMooCH concert (by the way, what an amazing way to enjoy local artists while raising money for Seattle Children’s Hospital so NO FAMILY is turned away from life saving care for money reasons). One of Pete’s friends mentioned that he had a podcast and it’s truly on brand with all that Nordstrom is. Imagine all the things this amazing brand touches and the ability to share it with the world. I’m one episode in and love it.

angrytruffleInspiring hosts and guestsI may be biased as a longtime Nordstrom employee, but I find Pete’s podcast and the many takes on leadership really inspiring and most importantly - genuine and humble. Another reason I love the company I work for. Nice work, Pete!

Mookie DTRSo many reasons to listenI am a co-founder of a fashion data company and started listening to The Nordy Podcast as part of my ongoing efforts to learn about wholesale, retail, and fashion. But, this podcast is so much more. Listening to Pete has made me a much better leader. I have loved being a customer of Nordstrom since I went into my first Nordstrom store in 1987, now after listening to The Nordy Podcast I am a huge fan of Nordstrom the company and their culture and values. Lots to learn listening to Pete!

rrhghugrNordstrom CultureEveryone knows that Nordstrom has an awesome culture, but it’s so interesting to me to hear stories first hand from the employees. They are the best! The external guests always have great background stories about their companies and association with Nordstrom. This is such an authentic and entertaining podcast!

737stewardessThank You Pete!I have loved Nordstrom since I was a little kid and looking back I wish I had gone into fashion. The story with Dominico Del Sole really made me feel good. Thank you Pete for doing these podcasts! They are fun to listen to! I would love to work for Nordstrom’s back office. Have a great week!

Henry's LandlordLove this podcastGreat content!

CltRoadrunnerRefreshing and interesting!Really enjoyed episode 18 particularly the perspective from Jesse James! That is the type of attitude and drive that separates average from exceptional, always looking for ways to innovate and excel. It is impressive that Nordstrom has the vision to allow him to grow sales outside the traditional channels, I want to buy shoes from him!

CCNYC1201The first family of retailLove this podcast, from the strong Ep#1 with Mickey Drexler through today with The Tire Story. Authentic tales from the sales floor, back of house and all the spaces in between.

NoLifer1993Loving the personal storiesI have missed a few episodes and going back listening to episode 4 I couldn’t help but laugh. I have worked at Nordstrom for 10 yrs and had never heard of the monkey story. Oh gosh I wish I was a fly on the wall during that moment lol. Love hearing these personal stories about the company.

JanalaceyAddicted! So inspired by this show… literally addicted and can’t stop listening as a fellow entrepreneur! So impressed with the family and how kind, humble and relatable they are! I have always been a HUGE fan of Nordstrom and forever grateful for my FIRST job ever there on the Fashion Board in Sacramento at 16. It opened up the world of fashion and put me on the right track to following my dreams of becoming a Fashion Designer. Now, I hope to get into Nordstroms with my brand and even get the opportunity to interview Pete himself some day! Thank you for sharing your expertise!

z3kidsAllbirds - not on Nordstrom appI’m loving this interview, Allbirds aligns with my desire to purchase products with a low carbon footprint. While I was listening to the podcast I flipped into the Nordstrom app to see which Allbirds products that Nordstrom is carrying - well, nothing came up. The search did not reveal a single product or even recognize Allbirds as a brand. I then I went into “shoes” -> “filters” -> “brands”-> “Allbirds ” - results: nothing! I’m pretty sure Nordstrom carries Allbirds but you won’t find them on the Nordstrom app.

FashionablemanGreatI have known Pete for 30 years and he is always interested in getting to know people. And this podcast is the perfect venue for him. As a Nordstrom alumni I can remember how fun Nordstrom culture is. While I’m no longer with the company I’m still in fashion and I use everything I learned while I was there.

jdp1225Great podcast!Love the podcast. I grew up with Nordstrom as my go to store. As a kid, it was the only place we’d go to buy shoes. Back then it was Nordstrom Best and we went to Aurora Village location. Once my mom and I were done shoe shopping, I was able to ride the mechanical horse they had in the store by the shoe department for free! I then went on to buy all my kids shoes at Nordstrom. Only place that always stocked extra wide kids shoes. They even had a clinic to teach kids how to tie shoes. Looking forward to next episode.
-
ChristiLGNFascinating and funFascinating behind the scenes look into the most innovative department store in the industry. Surprisingly candid business discussions. Everyone speaks with their normal diction, which to me, makes it more listenable. Rather than being a passive listener, you feel as though you’re at the table. Incredibly engaging.

Northgate1973Love this new podcast! My husband worked for this wonderful company for 45 years; 33 directly and another 12 as a contractor. My wedding dress was purchased at the downtown Seattle store 44 years ago! Your podcast is great, Pete; we wish you much success!

KateBefore&AfterGreat insights- I was already a fan!Listening to the behind the scenes insights of one of my favorite brands is a pleasure. Pete is down to earth and has a small business attitude to running a large corporation. Very refreshing in our current environment!

CrashpoetHello!Hello there, my name is Topher Ruiz, I am proud to say that this October will be my 11th year with Nordstrom. My journey began in Miami Fl with our Merrick Park location, which led me out to Austin Texas Barton creek 731. Would you consider stories from employee experiences? I’d love to be able to discuss some of my unique experiences over these past years. Like the time I met my future wife, she was running the yogurt shop right outside of our e-bar at Merrick Park. Excited for the podcast.

johnny52521Nordstroms knows how to connectLove this concept and letting the customer in to a more intimate conversation with two icons in the fashion world. The Nordstroms know how to use the latest technology and trends to connect with their customers and this is just one more example of it. Next is a line of recycled jackets depicting images of landfills that supports efforts to reduce climate change. Something like that is just so perfect for Nordstrom and would show how seriously they take our environment and the things that are important to their customers. Keep it up Pete!

kellen32Excited about the PodcastI’m listening to the podcast as I’m writing the review . Peter, I sent you and Erik an email, I hope you guys read it. The podcast is amazing and I’m sure we all will learn a lot. Thank you.

DsschaefferWonderful! So many takeaways! So happy Pam Danziger shared her latest Forbes article on LinkedIn about the Nordstrom Podcast. I’m the third generation owner of Mrs. G Appliances in NJ. One location home appliance showroom celebrating 87 years in business. I’m also a loyal Nordstrom shopper and avid podcast listener. This is my very first review! When I started working in my family’s retail store the first business book I read was ‘The Nordstrom Way’. So many great golden nugget takeaways on this episode. I’m very proud to share, just like Mickey Drexler, my grandmother Mrs. G, sat by the store front door to be available to customers and staff. I do as well. I also liked Justin’s story and reminded me about my interviews with new sales consultants. I tell them, I love it when customers visit our showroom… I love it more when they say I’m here to see “Justin” at Mrs. G! Great podcast! Congrats! Happy to share on my LinkedIn as well.
-
susan_coachBuilding on brand promiseNo one knows how to connect with the customer like Nordstrom’s. I love the combo of interview, a peek behind the curtain and raving fans - great way to build on the brand and entertain at the same time. Congrats, well done!
-
biztravellersryThanks for the insightI loved your interview with Mickey. I started my career at Banana Republic when Mickey was there. My office was right outside the executive suite (made of glass as he said). I have many memories of my many years there.
-
MightyFelLoving this!I have wished the Nordstroms would make a podcast for a long time! Dream come true!

Kelgan13Episode 1 Mickey DrexlerWow! Loved the discussion with Mickey. And yes, we all need a Justin in our life! Congrats on the launch!!!!

CarmencitaSierraSo excitedSo excited to hear all future podcasts!! I’m a former Nordy…but really, still am in my heart as all I learned from being in leadership at this amazing company I apply in my current job and I cherish with all my heart!!!! Why I left…I wanted to manage a store and that was not in the cards with Nordstrom so I had to realize my dream somewhere else. Do I miss it? Everyday. Am I happy I made the change? For sure…at the end of day, you have to find a way to make your dreams come true even if it’s not where you thought it would be. All happens for a reason! :) Looking forward to hearing more!!!! So excited!!! Congrats and best of luck!!!

cettyluvBoston store openingsI was an Nordstrom employee and got to witness the amazing process of opening the first Nordstrom in Natick Massachusetts - the customer first training is the best in retail and I loved hearing Pete's first podcast!

MeldanyaBA Podcast I Can Relate ToWhen I eft Nordstrom after ten years of employment, I moved to Wayne, New Jersey. I had no intention of working immediately, but because JCrew was so close to where I lived, I interviewed and I immediately was hired to work as part of JCrew’s management team. I learned quickly that it was in part due to my tenure at Nordstrom. Great interview, Pete Nordstrom. Two titans of business comparing notes and telling it like it is in retail. Honest and true. I look forward to hearing the next interview Mel Bell
