    Very informative and easy listening
Great podcast with short episodes explaining the WHY behind sensory seeking behavior, and how to help regulate your loved one.

    Incredibly helpful!
This podcast has helped me and open my eyes to the sensory world, understanding the needs of my child and even my own. I love the way Laura explains everything, so easy to understand. I also learned how to get my child properly assessed when no other health professionals would point me in the right direction.

    The help I needed
I somehow found The OT Butterfly in my endless search for understanding of the sensory needs of my children and myself. It’s given me a clearer picture of how to support us all and have grace for each of us. I really liked her episodes about the Nervous System Cash System and her interview of Paige from YouTube. I could say more but I need to spend another nervous system dollar (or more like $5) doing the dishes 🤪 Thank you for the great content!

    Q & A with Lilliana
Just listened to the episode that was a Q&A with Liliana. So so sweet. I love hearing her little voice and listening to how she answers the questions. I’m going to listen to it again when my son “just happens to be” within earshot. I think it will be nice for him to hear from a kid almost the same age about some of the same feelings he has.

OT and Mom of a sensory sensitive kid
I’m an OT who works in the public school setting AND I have an almost 3 year old with tactile sensitivity and anxieties that I believe have stemmed from that. I completely related to her story and her life with Liliana. Even as an OT myself I have learned so much from listening to this podcast. Even things I did know have been refreshed and re-framed in my mind in very helpful ways. Thank you for sharing and don’t stop!

A real relatable mom that I can trust
I love listening to Laura. After a long time following her on IG I finally got around to listening to her podcast and I love how much more in depth information I can soak up from her. She talks about real relatable parenting when dealing with neurodivergence, anxiety, etc. and it’s so refreshing to listen to her. Like listening to a mom friend talk (even though you can’t talk back). I find her voice very soothing and comforting as well :-)

    Show on Labels Truly Offputting
It is not the label, but how the label is used that is the issue. How it is used, by whom, for what reason, to what effect. The fact that you don’t understand that, to me, suggests that your neurodivergent child has yet to face discrimination, shunning due to the social stigma of specific labels, and marginalization. The world just isn’t that rosy. Take off those glasses.

    She truly gets it!
The host does an incredible job of exploring complex topics and somehow leaving the listener with tangible strategies and a feeling of not being alone. One of my top ten!

    A sensory lens
Laura has helped me see my autistic SPD son’s behavior through a sensory lens, and it’s made all the difference. Because I have a better understanding of how sensory stimuli affect his brain, I can anticipate and preempt sensory overload with the strategies I learned from Laura. Excellent podcast!!

    What I needed!
Our daughter was recently evaluated and we found out she has SPD. When your child is struggling, it’s just really heart wrenching. I had no idea what type of resources I needed or where to even start. I happened across OTButterfly and wow. I love her Instagram stories and this podcast is awesome. The episodes are a quick listen that cover so many relevant topics and provide good info/tips. I also appreciate the fact that not everything is sugar coated, because navigating this is just really hard and it feels refreshing to have a parent and expert just be real about the frustration and hard moments.

Wisdom and unscripted feelings in one show
I am on the first few episodes and i feel like she knowns every feeling i have gone through as a parent on ND kid. I feel lighter after listening to some of her unscripted episodes.

    Extremely helpful
Laura’s podcast, Instagram account, and Sensory W.I.S.E. Solutions Podcast for Parents have been so helpful to our family. Even though we have done OT, I continue to learn about my child, and her needs as she grows and evolves. This podcast always helps me look at things that with a different and clearer perspective. It has helped me problem solve things that are current struggles and has given me insight to prepare me to handle other challenges when they do arise. Thank you for this weekly dose of information!

    So helpful!
I am a fellow pediatric OT and recommend this podcast to so many of the clients I work with! I am so appreciative of the content Laura creates and shares, it is so helpful for other family’s to know they are not alone! The strategies given are always very digestible to parents and explained in an easily understandable manner. Could not recommend more to really anyone who is around children :)

    Love this podcast!
I’ve been following Laura on instagram for awhile now and love her content so this podcast is no different. The content is real and extremely relatable. She has such a unique perspective because of her OT background and being a mom of as well - it’s refreshing. 💜

    The best!
OT Butterfly is such a great resource. So much valuable information given from such an honest, realistic perspective.

    Always Appreciated
I have been following Laura’s Insta page since March 2020 and the peace in our family has increased so much from her knowledge as an OT and willingness to share her life with a ND kid. This podcast has been a big part of that, I especially appreciate her episodes with other people in the field, the one with Mr. Chazz has stuck with me the most regarding believing the child even when you don’t have a diagnosis! She’s always authentic and relatable and knowing we aren’t alone as parents of kids with sensory needs is huge- it’s very isolating when your kid is struggling and hard to find a group of parents who will willingly talk about their own struggles! I also greatly appreciated hearing her husband talk about his own journey of parenting a ND kid, it was very similar to the path of me and my husband and helped spark a good conversation for us to promote more understanding.

    My current Mama life line!!
Holy moly! I am so grateful for your content and for your kindness Laura!! I’ve just found your podcast this past week and have been binging ever since!! Your deeply helpful content comes at a time where our family has faced several unexpected financial challenges while coming to realize our sweet 3 year old sweetheart is hitting all the markers for sensory sensitivity. We are not able to pursue hiring an OT in this season AND she’s headed to school for the FIRST TIME in a few weeks!! She’s never even been in daycare so this will be a big change for all of us! She’ll be going to school and I’ll be back working full time.💔I have been teaching her emotional intelligence since forever which has been helpful but with school starting soon and me realizing this week that the teachers are not equipped to support her the way I have been at home….well I’m frantic to figure out how to pivot to teaching ways she can self advocate at least. So your tips literally feel like I’m being thrown a life preserver!😨 Thank you so so much from the bottom of my anxious Mama heart!💜

    So helpful
In tears after how helpful this last podcast was. I wish I had this years ago when my daughter was having frequent meltdowns. Thank you for this. Helpful beyond words to know I’m not alone.

    Loving this podcast!
I’ve only listened to one episode (39 about clothing), but it has already been so helpful!

    FINALLY SOMEONE GETS ME
I first found Laura on instagram a couple nights ago, mindlessly scrolling after bedtime. I devoured all her content in hours. Now, going through her podcast episodes, I feel like someone finally gets me and is saying it out loud. Every word is incredibly relatable. Laura, please come over for dinner tonight. I’m on the other side of the country, but see you at 5ish? Internet best friend.

Like speaking to a friend who “GETS IT”
I have a 2 year old daughter with sensory processing challenges (specifically tactile) that have made feeding an overwhelming challenge since birth. Listening to Laura feels like having the chance to talk to someone who literally understands what you have been through. I love that the episodes are short and full of tips and helpful information.

A MUST for any parent of SPD or autism
I’ve loved Laura’s instagram for awhile, but this podcast is exactly what I needed. It’s very validating to hear someone else name what you’re feeling. If you haven’t lived it, it can be hard to explain the very specific kind of anxiety that comes with parenting a neurodivergent child. And it can be extremely isolating. But everything she shared I have felt, and I was crying in relief to know someone else has been here too. 10/10 stars if I could!

10 Stars if they had them
These quick episodes are becoming something I look forward to every week. Not only are they so validating and relatable, but they are so helpful and practical with my neuro-divergent kiddo. I'v actually cried while listening to some because she just "gets" me.

    Great and relatable info
I’m so happy Laura came out with this podcast! I have an almost 4 year old with sensory sensitivities and this podcast provides great information that is easy to digest and apply. I love how Laura also shares her own struggles raising a sensory sensitive child because it helps us not feel alone in this crazy rollercoaster.

    Amazing! informative and relative!
I have been following OT Butterfly on IG for a while and I am a pediatric OT working with kids with a variety of diagnosis. I have used this podcast to refresh and re teach my mind on how to address Sensory Processing with parents. I have recommended this podcast to some of my parents to listen to as therapy as well because they can relate to it in a parent perspective.

    Great info
I am an OT with a child that is a sensory seeker. My husband struggles to understand it all and I was happy to find this podcast

    Thank you!
Within the last month, as my son as started preschool and been around others more (thanks pandemic!) I’ve really wondered if he had SPD and how I move forward. How would I help him? What’s my role? Who do I even talk to? This podcast has been helpful, even in just the 6 episodes that are available, and has made me feel so much less alone in this process. Thank you!

    Helpful for Grandmother
This was excellent information about so many things. Very helpful on the approaches/routes to go for getting help. We think my 3yo gs has the opposite of your daughter. If it’s too quiet in his quiet playtime activities at school, he will create a disturbance for sound and movement to go on. He’s having a hard time because he seems to need more stimulation. TY for your podcast. Looking forward to the next episode.

    Very helpful and relatable
I’ve been following Laura on social media for a while and she provides a wealth of information and resources for parents with kids who have SPD or just need some additional sensory activities throughout their day. I especially appreciate that she is both an OT and a parent of a child with SPD because of this I feel she’s able provide activities and information from both perspectives which makes it feel more relatable to parents with sensory kids. She’s also very honest and open about her journey as a SPD parent, both the good and the hard times which is greatly appreciated as it makes others on a similar journey not feel crazy or alone in what they’re experiencing. Can’t wait for more episodes!

But for real, Laura will you be my mom friend OT bestie?
I have been following Laura on IG for a while and her content has saved me in so many ways. Laura’s story as a mom to a sensory sensitive child might as well be my story. It has been so hard and it took me years to finally understand that SPD was the root of so many of my son’s challenges (which were in turn, my challenges). Laura has taught me so much and I am such a fan girl from afar. I have recommended her account to so many friends who have children with sensory needs as well. Love love love you! Thank you for your contributions!
