    What a find!!
Absolutely loving listening to the hosts discuss The Running Grave after finishing it!! Their discussions have truly enriched my reading experience. I have been enjoying the commentary so much that I am rereading The Ink Black Heart and listening to those episodes of the podcast concurrently. SO good!! Thank you!!

I love me some Strike and Ellacott fans!
I had to stop listening because they never summarize the chapters they’ll talk about first, like all the other book reader podcasts I listen to do and I need that. But this is me. They just do it differently. I don’t memorize the chapter numbers when I read so I have to guess where they are and what they are referring to since I’ve read all the books up until that point and they blend together a bit when their references are vague. They want you to have read the whole book so they don’t spoil anything so I can’t read along with them. BUT, if you have memorized what in each chapter by number, or you are going back to reread or skim and review the chapters they will talk about before the podcast, I am sure will be a real fun listen for you because they are very enthusiastic and you’ll know exactly what they are referring to.

    100% Bingeworthy
So glad to have found this lovely podcast after finishing The Running Grave. Having a place to continue reveling in the world of Strike and Ellacott is easing the time waiting for Strike 8. Well done hosts! x

    Heartwarming
Found this podcast when I had finished the running grave and have since listen to all episodes with their recap podcast listened to their whole discussion of ink black heart; it feels like talking to your nerdiest friends about one of your favorite fandom. ♥️📕🔎

    Can we be friends??
I’m so happy I found the show when I needed it the most - The Running Grave. I didn’t have anyone to talk to - so many mixed emotions with that ending and the book! 😱 The trauma !!! - So I resorted to Twitter (whatever 🙄 X) and I’m so glad I got to talking to a few people and finally found Lindsay (sorry if I chatted your ear off that night) and the podcast! I’ve been reading these books since 2014 without a soul to talk to. I should’ve known Strike had more of a fandom than just me. Looking forward to catching up on the episodes. But based on your episode reviewing The Running Grave I know we’d be besties. You guys are great and hilarious! Dial up the Strike thirst by 100% as far as I’m concerned 😉 Thanks for the show!

I look forward to each episode
This podcast has grown on me. I struggled in the early days before the three hosts found a better balance with each other, but now I look forward to listening to them each week. I love their literary insights, and how they connect and discuss the epigraphs! I do think their obsession with, and genuine sexual attraction and desire for a fictional man is a bit odd. Maybe I’m just not the “fan-fic” type. However, I do enjoy their self deprecating humor about their own nonsense, and overall I enjoy each episode very much.

    Tone it down
I have to agree with the other posts saying the focus on the romance is way too much. There’s so much else going on in the books-why are they sooooo focused on the “romance”. I really enjoyed the podcast until Pools joined and then I hung on hoping she wouldn’t become a regular but she did and the tone of the podcast lowered to fan girl squealing and sighs about Strike.

    Sorry I waited so long!
I have been a bit stubborn about getting into listening to podcasts but I have been working as a janitor this summer and had plenty of time for audio listening. One day I needed something fun and light so I thought I’d check it out! What a wonderful thing I’ve been missing! So much great information presented in a fun and intelligent way, plus all the “shipping”! I am caught up on IBH and now I will be going back to the beginning to listen to every episode.

I’ve loved this podcast for years! The trio and their guests are always so insightful. They make the fandom feel approachable, respectful, kind, inclusive, and hilarious. I always walk away from a podcast learning 20 things, getting a new outlook, and laughing myself silly. They do a wonderful job at trying to review theories and analysis from all angles while still remaining raw and so down to earth. I’ll even forgive them for loving blue cheese (which is a hard one, but I’ll do it for the Strike and Ellacott Files crew, if they’ll let me go hide in the emotion closet while they eat it.)

I find this podcast so fun to listen to! This series is underrated and niche, no one in my life reads it other than me so I really value having you guys to think things through with and to savor it all.

    Love the podcast
I really enjoy listening to this podcast, as I have no other friends who read these books to discuss them with. All three hosts are funny and insightful and I find myself laughing along. There is something soothing about listening to this while I do house work. I only wish they came out more frequently!

    My Favorite Podcast
The hosts are so enthusiastic and so well-versed in this book series, I can’t wait for each new episode. I really appreciate their upbeat presentation and love hearing their theories and predictions about where the series is headed. Super fun to listen to, I usually play each episode twice.

    Appointment listening
I am always so excited when a new episode drops, it’s appointment listening for me. The podcast is a blend of news/updates of what’s going on in the Strike world, chapter analysis and fan-ning out and I love it!

A gift to Strike and Ellacott fans
This podcast is the perfect blend of excellent literary analysis and unadulterated joy. The hosts are deeply knowledgeable about the series, they do their research, and they love it in a way that’s infectious. I look forward to these episodes and to hearing what each of them have to say. They’ve only increased my excitement for these books, and I’m so grateful. Keep it up! We appreciate you.

    Striking!
This is a really fun podcast that has gotten better and better over time. The show is energetic and positive and I enjoy the hosts’ insights and background research. It’s a casual vibe that just feels like chatting about a great book with great friends.

    Too giggly girl-y
As a fan of the books, I was excited to find a chapter by chapter analysis of the most recent books. The episodes started out strong. The guest panelists of Sam, Clara & Paula were great. They offered interesting perspectives & insights. Then Pools was made a permanent fixture & the show became a struggle. She dominates the entire conversation with an affected accent that is akin to nails on a chalkboard all the while focusing on her romantic obsession for the main characters. Her strident insistence & preoccupation that “ Strike is Robin’s husband” is just too much. Any actual thought provoking insights just get lost. The show could’ve been great but the current hosting set up is just an exercise in irritation.

    Fun for what it is
If you love these books and just want to hear three friends talk through this book and share occasional background research/insightful predictions or theories, you’ll have a great time. I think it could be a 5 star pod if 1.) they talked less about the romance. At first it was fun, but it gets pretty grating over time. And I think it reduces Strike and Robin’s relationship to something less than it is. They get so excited about what it’ll be like when J.K. writes them kissing and flirting that i think it sometimes distracts from the rich layers of friendship, respect, and camaraderie that are ACTUALLY happening at the time they’re discussing 2.) sometimes the sound quality (especially of guest hosts) can be a little rough. 3.) They edited out some of Lindsay and Pools less enlightening arguments. They disagree a normal amount but hearing it, seemingly live, stresses me out a bit and doesn’t add much to the show. But I don’t know of anything else like this, and they know the series well and so I’ll still listen. Just need to spread it out more so I don’t get so annoyed by the quirks.

    They know their stuff.
I am a huge fan of the Strike books. When I finally got around to listening, I was not disappointed. The main three host know this series inside and out. They have some of the best guest host, I especially adore Sam with his bloke and Brit point of view. Also a huge Harry Potter fan, but have stopped listening to many HP podcast because they were getting too political and cancel culture. It is a breath of fresh air to hear others just talk about the subject matter and help my very Ravenclaw mind expand. I love the excitement that is brought to the show and can’t wait for season 3 so we can discuss The Ink Black Heart. 🪦🖤🍂 Cherise

    What a gift!
I am so grateful every time a new episode drops! Thank you for all your theories, your detailed research into referenced works, and your camaraderie.

    Just OK
The best way for me to describe my feelings on this pod is that it’s average. Not terrible but not great. I much prefer the earlier episodes prior to Pools joining full time. She seems to dominate the conversation without adding much to the discussion. There also seems to be an increase on the focus on the romance aspect, with multiple references to Strike and Robin being “husband and wife”. While I do love the romance aspect of the series, they take it too far for my liking and even the reference of the duo looking at each other will get them on a tangent about them being in love. It’s a bit much, and they could do with more discussion on the mysteries of the books.

A must-listen for fans of these books
The three main hosts and the guest hosts provide great commentary and insight into these books. I’ve gained so much by listening and eagerly await new episodes. I hope they go back and cover all of the prior books. UPDATE: Guest Host Sam is especially great. He would be a nice permanent addition.

    More please
I’m absolutely hooked. This is exactly what I needed to refresh my memory on this whole series and also feed into my obsession over Strike and Robin’s relationship. Glad we’re all on the same page ;)
  • SwampWoman57
    Kinda high school
The hosts provide some very interesting perspectives; for example, the discussion of the Odyssey was great. Unfortunately, the good stuff is overwhelmed by squeals about the romance. The Strike/Robin relationship fascinating, but the podcast’s preoccupation is boring.

A Must for Strike & Ellacott Fans
I love listening to this podcast while we wait for Book 6, especially because the hosts dive into the story & characters more deeply than I have, and it’s fun to hear other fans’ perspectives. I hope they dedicate episodes to the TV series too.
  • heidiweidel
    Great show!
    I really enjoyed this episode!

    Amazing!
I am so excited to find a podcast of people as obsessed with The Strike Series as I am! I can’t wait for their next episode! I loved the conversation about Easter eggs. I think Tracey and the ashtray Charlotte throws at Strike (both from his time in Germany) will feature in a future book. I think the jealousy from Tracey’s appearance will be the person that pushes them together. Robin’s Charlotte jealousy will persist and be saved for the final novel. Please let me be a guest! I have so many thoughts!
