The Perfume friends you need in your life
Iv been a listener for a hot second but just thought id drop a comment on all the good feels i get from this podcast. They are funny, informed & honest about perfumes & beauty in a way that feels like hanging out. I look forward to each episode and their take on the fragworld <3

    Informative and entertaining
I came from Perfume Room podcast and I have started listening from the very beginning. It's such a great pod. I love Sable and Tynan's banter. I amalso reading Sable's book currently. Highly recommend.

    Love this one
I listen to this one religiously- and it has been terrible for my bank account! Perfect for an irreverent fragrance lover. That being said, please talk into your mics. The inconsistent sound/volume level is maddening at times!

    Sometimes good, uneven
Some occasional good content, but often lacking in curiosity and passion for the topic they are discussing. Too much snark, saying “Ugh capitalism” and “I love money” in the span of a few minutes. I still listen weekly.

I look forward to hearing this podcast every week! It makes me laugh and my week becomes better.

    I’m Obsessed
I used to listen to a wide variety of podcasts because I’d get bored of one at a time, but right now all I can listen to is Tynan and Sable. I look forward to listening to them all the time, while working, driving, cooking, doing chores. Their gossip is funny, their insights and thoughts are interesting, and they’re comforting companions. I mostly like when it’s just them, but my favorite guest episodes are the scientists they bring on to talk about the science of smell or scents. I would love if they came out with a sampler pack of their favorite scents that you could order and try. I live in a rural place where it’s hard to get a hold of most of the scents they talk about.

    Great
Love y'all but Tynan, *please* talk into the mic.

Okay, this may happen to slap.
I honestly didn’t appreciate this podcast at first. If you’re looking for expertise or a nuanced, semantic discussion on fragrance, keep looking…but if you listen simply for pleasure and the occasional recommendation or insight, then this is gold.

Like, how many times do they say “like” in an episode???
Approximately a billion. The podcast has true potential but their Valley Girl speak using “like” every other word in sing song voices is super annoying. Their second favorite word is “performative”, whatever that means. If these two would speak “like” adults, it would be way more enjoyable!

Lots of good info; always a nice hang
I always really enjoyed Tynan’s writing for XO Jane and wondered one day, as I struggled to find a decent eyeliner for my hooded eyes, what had become of him; I tracked him down here & discovered this delightful podcast. Lots of good info; two funny, intelligent hosts with great friend chemistry, and they seem to have enough clout to wrangle some pretty amazing guests. So zero downside. Sable did once say Byredo Blanche was appropriate for someone’s mom, which made me feel my age in a slightly resentful way for about five minutes (I’m 46) as I was literally wearing it at that very moment. But upon further reflection I realized she was right. They’re good eggs, these two, and they know what they are talking about.

    Binge worthy!
I recently got into perfume and since then Sable and Tynan are my new best friends! This podcast goes beyond smells- it’s a testament and crash course into friendship, sassiness, dating in the wild and living large in NYC. I love it and them❤️!

    Misophonia is REAL
Please don’t loudly chew or drink on the podcast! SO DISGUSTING. It completely ruins an otherwise stupid but fun listening experience.

    My favorite new podcast
Started listening when heard them mentioned on Dewy Dudes podcast episode (#attribution) and though I must check it out. Was love from the first episode. The hosts are hilarious and have the most soothing voices. If you are into scents and fun NYC living banter this is the show for you. They have such interesting guest episodes (not every episode) and listening to the hosts puts me in the most zen mood ever. They are real. They are fabulous. And if I ever met them IRL I’m sure they would smell amazing 🤩

    Girl, same
Apparently, Smell Ya Later has a mom following: like the previous reviewer, I have a job and children and I also cannot stop listening to this podcast. I think Tynan and Sable are my life coaches? I love their banter, and I also love that New York City is such a presence in this podcast. Listening to it reminds me that I used to be a young twentysomething girl doused in Stella by Stella McCartney living her best life in New York. It’s such a delight.

    Cannot stop listening.
I have a job. I have a child. I cannot stop listening. I love the perfume talk, but I also love your friendship. Thank you for this podcast!

    Blessed by Sable & Tynan
I can't love this podcast more. Incredible hosts, fantastic interviews, and gasoline on the fire of my perfume collection. So much fun.

    Immediately fell in love
I kept hearing about Smell Ya Later over the past year but only recently started listening. I immediately couldn’t believe I’d slept on it for so long! I guess I figured a perfume podcast would be hard to do well, but Sable and Tynan absolutely nail it. I love hearing them talk about anything, but Smell Ya Later does an especially great job of reminding me why I love perfume so much. Funny, engaging, insightful, and adding a million scents to my already scary long list of stuff I wanna sample. I was already spending too much money on perfume last year and Smell Ya Later will absolutely make it worse in the best way. Can’t stop listening, so glad this exists!

Get Tynan and Sable in your ears
I’ve been following these delightful humans since the days of xovain/xojane. I’m so glad they have a podcast and I love listening to them talk about scent and everything else every week. Listening to this podcast is a breath of fresh air and a balm during these pandemic times. Just listen already!

    Skip it
I wrote a snipy review for Smell Ya Later in 2021, but thought better of being so mean-spirited and deleted it. To its credit, SYL has featured the rare, captivating guests who have fully carried the show. However, after a year of what I can only describe as hate listening to this podcast, it’s time for a clean break. For fellow fragheads, there are a handful of up-and-coming scent focused pods that are worth seeking out. Out of respect, I won’t name them here, but do seek those shows out and skip this weekly dose of well… awkward millennial small talk, beauty bragging and pop culture chit chat? They’ve completely lost the plot and are just churning out (borderline cringey) content for contents sake.

    She’s the one
The perfect combination of educational, funny and light hearted. Tynan and Sable have such good chemistry. This podcast is like pear in celebrity scents, universally likable.

    Thank you Sable
I'm obsessed with fragrance and enjoy the pod! The 5 stars, however, are for Sable saying in ep 48 about Kim K "I just don't think they're that interesting, I literally can't think of anything I want to ask Kim K." YES THANK YOU! Lol I'd love if you could score more interviews with brand founders and perfumers. I can get enough of hearing people like Frederic Malle or Francis Kurkdjian talk about fragrance, for example.
  • Daneyjoy27
    Love
This podcast is so interesting and helpful! Tynan and Sable are funny and honest. It’s refreshing and exciting to listen to people talk about fragrance with the same enthusiasm that I have for it…my circle of people doesn’t get me. You two need to make a fragrance line!
  • Satisfied seller
    FINALLY
I’ve gone most of my life without friends who find fragrance to be incredibly exciting and had all but given up on building community around a love for fragrance…then I found this podcast. Unpretentious and upbeat, Sable and Tynan are so fun to listen to. They’re honest and down to earth. The guests they bring on the show lift the veil and give us a really amazing looking inside of the industry that other podcasts about perfume just do not deliver. In short, I cannot shut up about my love for this podcast and the hosts. I highly suggest you tune in to this true delight.
  • MarvinDwayne
    Perfect.
In your own words- “It’s like if you invited two friends over and they talked to each other and ignored you the whole time.” I love you both, I love the fragrance talk, but I especially love your conversations.

A great show to listen to
Literally I started knowing nothing and being like “I know two perfume names” and anyway now I’m obsessed love ur podcast LOVE learning about smells this podcast is like when u watch a cooking show and then decide you NEED whatever the chefs are cooking but for your ears and nose instead

    Love
I love this podcast, the hosts are so fun and I love both of their voices, hints of asmr. I love listening to them talk about one of my favorite things. Perfume🖤

    Unexpected
Why do I love this podcast so much? I don’t wear perfumes. I don’t even really like perfumes and now I’m thinking about smells constantly, dragging my daughters to perfume counters, ordering samples on line. My living room has over 20 cards w perfume on them lining my bookshelves. I’ve started taking notes and making wishlists of what I want to smell next. Thanks Sable and Tynan, you’ve really opened the door to a fun world. Im hooked.

    Entertaining and educational
I’ve been enjoying Tynan and Sable’s work since their time at xovain (RIP) and have found myself getting into fragrance as I have gotten more interested in other things that smell good: gardening and cooking. Not only are these two fun to listen to for their banter, but they are curious about the science of smell and the industry at large. Sable is an especially strong interviewer. I’ve even bought some fragrances because they were featured on this podcast (shoutout to Cloud by Ariana Grande and Cannabis Santal by Fresh) Keep up the fun and entertaining work, you two.

    The obsession is real
If you’re a fragrance lover and collector like me, this podcast checks all my fragrance obsessed boxes! I looooove discussing perfumes, candles, personal fragrance and scent memories and these two are awesome at bringing the heady, sugary content!

    Education for a perfume novice!
I’ve recently become interested in perfumes and this podcast is helping me learn so much! It’s super interesting, fun, and relaxing to listen to. Makes me want to buy a bunch of expensive fragrances.
  • Mayraler
    Love it!
A really lovely, fun and informative podcast to listen to on my walks. Since I started listening I find I think more about the scents that are around me and what those scents evoke in me. I really like the way they speak to and about each other, like they really know each other but also are always interested in what the other will say. Honestly they both seem like the coolest people to me and I aspire to someone day be half as cool. GREAT PODCAST! Pd. Loved their interview with Rodrigo Flores-Roux!
  • MryJade
    So nothing went wrong..
...I’m going to leave a review anyway. I’m over here tossing around terms like hot and cold throw to all my friends when talking about things like the state of their bong. I’m fancy now.

    Obsessed
As someone who loves all things scent and who is also teaching themselves perfumery, I can safely say this is my favorite podcast right now. Mostly though, because Sable and Tynan are perfect together - totally real and hilarious. 10 stars!
  • Gennifer Delman
    A joy!
Tynan and Sable are absolute delights. Their thoughtful, well-researched questions bring the world of home fragrance down to earth and make it enjoyable for any listener to revisit scents of the past, discover new ones, or learn about an otherwise mysterious industry. An absolute must-listen!

A new favorite from old friends
This podcast has become one of my favorite listens. I have followed the hosts since their days of online writing on Xovain.com and now really enjoy just listening to them talk about perfume, cosmetics and really anything and everything. In these days of social distancing and increasing anxiety it’s just a welcome pleasure to take a break and listen to my friends in my phone.
  • AMinAR
    Good smells
This is such a niche subject and I’m a generation older than the hosts - but I love this show. Who knew I’d be endlessly entertained by all things scent-related?
  • MalWD
    Binged it TWICE
I have never finished a podcast then immediately wanted to restart it from the beginning until this one! Tynan and Sable are funny and knowledgeable and the way they talk about fragrance is so relatable. If you are curious about which fragrance smells like “a really clean alien planet” or why “adding vanilla to fragrance is the equivalent of putting an exclamation point in an email so you don’t seem mad” LISTEN HERE!
  • Aly.oftheNorth
    Tell me I smell bad
As someone who has sold fragrance for a long time and worked in beauty for longer, it’s so refreshing to talk smells without wanting to roll my eyes so far back that they pop out of my head. I love the humor and candid banter. It’s lighthearted and witty and you need to listen.
  • happysam123
    Off to a great start
As someone in the industry I really enjoyed listening to the first few episodes of this podcast. While it’s clear that the hosts are still working out a few kinks of what they exactly want the show to be I think it’s perfect for anyone who enjoys or is interested in scent. Due to the casual nature of the show there were a few times I wished language was a bit different ( it’s Ber-ga-mot and a perfumer is not the brand name-just like you wouldn’t call Gucci your favorite designer- you’d say Alessandro Michele.) but otherwise I loved the light hearted take on an industry that tends to take itself too seriously.
  • Jbacques
    So good!!!!
I love this podcast! It’s like hanging with your two super cool friends who know so much. I keep on smelling my perfumes as I’m listening. I love it.

    Let’s Get Smelly
Loving this podcast so far. As a low key fragrance nerd, this is great. I follow Sable on Instagram and am obsessed with her fragrance narratives. If only other perfume rating sites would recommend scents based on the desire to smell hot and rich. Also loved Tynan’s article about fragrance and memory, must read if you haven’t already. I appreciate the wide range of discussion and fragrances mentioned. While we all love a Le Labo and Byredo circlejerk, s/o to Lolita Lempicki and Black Orchid for making me feel mysterious AF in college. Sidebar, is it really berg-a-moe and not berg-a-mot? Would love a future episode about fragrance trends, dupes, layering and pheromone smells.
