it’s how broken the game is that makes it so endearing.
I love the running joke of Morgan miss using spells and ways that make them extremely powerful. Dimension door staying open continuously, going from a fourth level to a seventh level spell. And now polymorph becoming true polymorph going all the way to a ninth level spell. Polymorph can only turn you into beasts, not giants, not devils, not dragons, not humanoids. Beasts. T-Rex was the best option, maybe giant ape or even giant snake. Morgan really should have to read the full description of his spells every time he uses them.

    There aren’t enough STARS
This is my favorite podcast, full stop! The joy and camaraderie inspired my lifelong friend and me to launch our own campaign. Thank you for…being you!

    Gravy!!!!
“No Heath, your sword can’t talk. No Heath it can’t fly. No Heath, it’s not a spell casting flashlight sword either…. “ The first 15mins of the quest is telling Heath “No” and it was amazing!!! (We all have that one friend 🤣) I love anything these guys do!!! When I become a capitalist queen- I’ll be a patron for all their shows ! My favorite thing to do is laugh- so thank you guys (and ladies) for the great work and keeping a smile on my face, not an easy job during these times. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

    Great
Best podcast I’ve heard. I have been binging while I work ever since I found out about it and I’m almost caught up to the most recent episode and I’m sad that I won’t be able to binge it every day at work.

    Great Show
Funny, Insightful. Lots of fun. Very entertaining.

Good escapist fun that helps keep me from dwelling on the dystopia in which we are all living.

    Lots of fun, but…
As with these guys’ other podcasts, they are really funny and help me dispel the blues - especially these days. But be warned, NO topic is too sensitive to laugh about- In fact, some jokes may upset some listeners. I have not stopped listening, but at some point, frequent use of the same “shock”topics as jokes becomes unpleasant. So, as much as I love listening, they lose a star for that.

    Best Flu I Ever Had
I’ve been laying in bed with the flu for a few days and binging this series. I know I’m way late to it, but it’s been a joy to listen to. Thanks!

    Fun podcast
A fun podcast to listen to, even if you don’t play any kind of RPG. The last time I played D&D was 1988, but if I could play with this crew I’d probably get back into it today.

This podcast got me into D&D
D&D felt unapproachable before listening to this. It’s entertaining as F and I learned the mechanics throughout season 1. Said “roll for initiative” to a coworker and turns out he was a DM. I joined his campaign and had such a good time with my Aarakocra wizard Harvey Birdman. Thank you DandDminus. Your foolishness added a lot of joy to my life, while I was listening and IRL.

    Funny at first
The first season was a blast to listen to and I’d highly recommend doing so. The problem is the second season. The magic that they had in the first season was gone with the new characters and the show quickly devolved into side jokes and weird stories that quickly lost my interest.

Eli is the heart and soul of the podcast
And Heath is tall. And has bad opinions on smash bros.

    Cant Stop Listening
My husband and I aren’t even pass the second episode and it’s now the favorite from Puzzle in a Thunderstorm. Listening to everyone grow into their characters is the most comedic thing I've heard in a while. Y’all tell a fantastically hilarious adventure. I can't wait to hear many more! Oh and Anna (Bridget) whip the boys into line is the GREATEST thing ever 😂

D and D Minus is a balm to my brain
I’m surrounded by hate and despair and I can’t bear to listen to the news right now. I love all of the other PIAT podcasts so J don’t know why I didn’t listen to this one sooner, but I am so happy to have it to binge listen to now. I need to escape into this wonderful creative silliness right now. Right now, I am a falcon. I can’t do anything. I can’t even make bread. But this podcast proved to me I can still smile.

    Fun until
I tried to laugh it off, but at a certain point the pedophilia and SA jokes were just too much.

    Excellent!!!!
This D&D Minus podcast is an absolute blast! It's hilarious from start to finish and is a breath of fresh air in the world of comedy podcasts. The chemistry between the cast is fantastic, and they bring so much humor to every session. As a longtime fan of their God Awful Movies podcast, I knew I'd enjoy their take on Dungeons and Dragons, but they’ve exceeded my expectations! If you're into D&D and love a good laugh, this is definitely the podcast for you.
  • Gerblen
    Great Dnd podcast
Love to podcast all the characters are great, Eli is a great DM, does such a great job of yes anding but also keeping things from getting out of hand. If we ever meet I will kiss you on the mouth Eli, only with your consent.
  • SavanahMenendez
    Obsessed with this podcast
Started with season 2 and binged it - this is the best podcast ever. It’s like I’m watching a TV show at work, and everyone on the pod is hilarious. Now I’m going back to season one and I can’t wait to drown in the content. You guys are awesome!!
  • ZachOfAllTrades712
    Educational and entertaining!
I knew very little about D&D before finding this podcast, and because they make this show so entertaining it has made it enjoyable to learn about the game! So now I can join in on some of the D&D campaigns my co workers put together. Love the whole Puzzle team, keep up the great content!
  • Bobthebuilderrr
    The best
Couldn’t get my bf into GAM, but now he’s ahead of me on this one. Love your whole crew and glad to see my fav Eli get to be in charge :) y’all keep me sane at work whether it’s here, GAM, or citation!!!

    Just binged 2 full seasons
Longtime listener of the other PIAT shows. Never played DnD but finally gave this show a listen when my unplayed episode list ran dry. Binged both seasons in a matter of weeks. Fun show and super accessible without any DnD experience. Great show, PIAT. Eli, if you are reading this, the updated theme song for season 2, 🔥🤘🏻. The noises that came out of me when that beat dropped in 2.1...
  • Widdle twiddle
Great for people new to D&D!!!
Never played a game of D&D in my life but the cast makes this so funny and accessible, I love it. Whole hearted recommendation! Loves of fun!
  • Melissadoesmath
It’s bonkers in the best way
This D&D podcast is definitely not like any other. If you don’t listen to other Puzzle In a Thunderstorm podcasts, you might not get all the jokes. But that’s not a reason to avoid this one. It’s a reason to listen to some of the others. Eli is a great DM, especially when things go badly. The “prepisodes” are unique and entertaining as well!
  • eddylinc
    Not just another D&D Podcast
Just continues to grow on me. Eli is an excellent DM and really helps his friends get the hang of the game, and the cast just does an excellent job. Season 1 was fantastic, with some memorable characters, and Season 2 is shaping up to be the same. And of course Carl, whether an imp or the stand-in for Charon, is just the best boy.

    Best podcast for…
Y’all, this is by far the best podcast you can listen to when you’re putting groceries away high.

    Funniest show I listen to
I was never really into D&D and it felt so confusing to me but this show not only made it understand it’s also one of the funniest things I listen to

    Funnest DnD
This is hands down the funniest DnD podcast out there. Carl the Pugapegacorn is the best guide a group of travelers could hope for

    I enjoy this podcast.
This is an enjoyable and entertaining podcast that features a groups of individuals playing dungeons and dragons. I have listened to the show in its entirety and will continue to do so. 5 stars.
  • Freddy Jimbers
    My favorite D&D podcast
Definitely my favorite D&D podcast, the sense of humor is great, the players have great chemistry, it’s fun to listen to them arguing, and the DM has created an engaging and hilarious world.

Two great tastes, DND + PIAT
This show helped convince me to try D&D and, after never getting around to writing a review for these guys despite listening to the PIATpod shows since 2014, I must finally do so. My first character was an Abjuration wizard who I spent entirely too much time fine tuning, so hearing Anna realize she — and Abjuration wizard — had no Abjuration spells to use arcane ward had me laughing my keister off. Keep up the great work everyone.
  • Lothadriel
    Hilarious
I never played D&D but now I want to! They are hilarious. I started listening to the second season, loved it so much I am going back and binging the first.
  • Poppy Corn
new adventure with cat & dog
Could this show get any better? Yes, yes it can. Whoo boy These folks invented a way to write and adventure story by luck. They made up crazy dice rather then just using regular 6 sided die and even let Eli play. I dont need to eat the flowers to have fun any more, THanks D&D Minnow!

This podcast made me want to learn to play D&D
I hadn’t listened to the first season of D&D Minus but I love the rest of the PIAT podcasts, so when season 2 started, I thought I’d give it a shot. I’ve never played D&D, so even though the hosts are hilarious, I wasn’t sure it would be for me. My kiddo (14 y.o.) and I binged the first 3 episodes of season 2 and laughed more than we have in years. We started listening to season 1 and after finishing to the first story arc, I signed up for the Patreon version to get every bit of this podcast that we could! The story is an exciting journey with all of the shenanigans & squeaky laughs I love from the hosts. My kiddo especially loves Morgan and Anna - they are great in their characters and such talented musicians! This has been a great way to learn about playing D&D. It always seemed kind of intimidating to learn about this whole world, but listening to the crew play and explain things as they go has made it fun and welcoming. I am completely hooked and can’t wait for the next episode!
  • mcscruffy1234
Awesome show for those who have never played
I have never played D&D but after listening to this show would never turn down an opportunity.
  • BibliophileG
    Lovingly F your Face
I knew of DND in concept, but never played or ventured into this world. You are my first exposure….wowza. After being invited (PIAT pods) to listen to the kick-off of S2, I got hooked. I am spending my break binging S1. Thank you [is all I can say] because “babies first…” review said almost everything I was thinking. Now I want dice!

    Baby’s First DnD Podcast
Okay, so I don’t have a kid, but this podcast is my first experience with DnD if you don’t count pop culture references and that one movie from Futurama. I love PIAT Productions and found this podcast through Scathing. The first season legitimately had me in stitches. I love the lighthearted, humorous nature of this series. I wish there was a release a week, and I’m sorry to not be a patron - maybe after football season is over when I cancel a few of my streaming services. Guys, I love the hilarious quests and the funny meta commentary. You are all so talented, but Anna really takes the cake. I’m so happy that I get to hear so much from her on this podcast. Eli, your world building is phenomenal. I love your witty commentary and tragic math skills. Noah, you are always hilarious with your well reasoned arguments. Morgan, I am so thankful to get to hear more of you through this podcast. Heath. Oh Heath. You are my spirit animal. I would absolutely play like you do. Also, you reminded me exactly of my dogs playing with toys with your weapon selection. Please don’t stop being yourself! Anna, can you please change your backstory every episode??? I loved the off the cuff Black Beard’s Beard story and would love to hear you come up with more asinine backstories throughout the season. Additionally Anna, the updated music you guys surprised us with at the end of S2E1 was a chefs kiss! I was super stoked and cannot wait for the next episode just because of that. Thank you guys for being such an amazing part of my life!
  • Leonmit
    Best of both worlds.
If you ever wanted to know how to play DnD, this is a good place to start. They give you clear (enough) explanations of how the mechanics work that even a lay person can understand. If you ever wanted to know how NOT to play DnD, this is a good place to start. If you emulate some of the antics on display in this show you will surely be uninvited from your game… if not worse. You will laugh, you will yell, and you will not be able to wait for the next episode.
  • Guy736
Haven’t listened to the show yet
But considering I scrolled through reviews and it took me 3 years to find a 4 star review I think it will be good
  • jaqui boy
    Thanks a lot!
There was a person I knew that hanged themselves in a neighbors garage, so those topics have been fun. I’m also dealing with a lot in a prominent industry as a valued member. Honestly makes me me feel not so alone. I’ve listened to all of your works from beginning to end as much as I’m able to stand. I wish I could throw you all monthly subscriptions. But I buy food for my kitties over myself.
  • Hyrum Jenny
    Very funny
Very funny but needs more blunderbuss.

    AMAZING!!
I’ve never listened to or played Dungeons & Dragons. I love GAM so I thought, “Why not?” I have thoroughly enjoyed and listened to every DnD Minus episode, twice now. I love it! They do such a good job, it’s hilarious and Eli makes a great D.M. For anyone who wants to try out D & D, I highly recommend DnD Minus!!!
  • kbbaus27
A gem of an actual play
What I love most about D&D Minus is the rapport between all the players and the DM. The story is also great and the characters feel insanely lived in for most of these folks being new players. My only complaint is that it's released monthly! I need more!!
  • Angelbrat3
    Enjoying
I’m sad to know that season 1 is coming to an end. Great story telling. What I imagine D&D should be like but in reality it be full of pauses, turn orders that seem to take forever, sheet updates that are boring, etc 😂 (I enjoy playing D&D) Sad that there will be no more pre-episodes. I hope we’ll see more of Gary in the future. Can’t wait to see what season 2 will bring.
  • Matto the Hun
    Far too much fun
Bridgette, Kla, Dave, Snedrick, and sometimes Karl make disfunction aspirational. It’s so much fun it makes one wish they could jump in and play with them. WORTH ALL THE STARS! (And snogsbane) I recently started listening and have sadly caught up. Couldn’t wait for the next episode so now I’m re-listening. It’s that much fun! Thanks you thunderous puzzles friends!
  • sdparris
    Levity Galore
I listened to the first episode while traveling and the show has been my mainstay anytime I am going somewhere. It’s so funny and often just what I need to offset the stresses in my day.
