    Love this
Hank Shan’s website taught me to cook the perfect Duck breast, so I was excited to learn he has a podcast. Good conversations and lots of education.

Lots of good information and knowledge, too much California liberal biased opinion. Stop looking down your nose at people that may do things different than you. You have lots of outdoor knowledge, just share that.

Hanks books and pods are so good. Great intersection of outdoorsman and cook. Love his content.

    National treasure of resource utilization
Hank Shaw successfully brings the same approachable nature found in his books and online content to the casual setting of a podcast. For someone raised among those that think all quarry should be deep fried, his books are like finding the dead seas scrolls, truly eye opening. The second season really hit the pulse of a pod and the guests have been insightful and entertaining.

    Loved episode 3
It was very interesting to know that the farmed vs wild ethical debate isn’t anywhere near as clearcut as I thought. I really appreciate the insight and will look for the different certifications in the show notes. Interestingly, after listening to this I walked into the grocery store and they had fresh Carolina shrimp so had to buy some!! 😁 I thought that you would talk about oyster farming on the east coast in the mid-1700s. The oyster beds had been so depleted by market harvesting that they were farming them by the acres in Chesapeake Bay. Literally tons of oysters were being harvested and sold. A lot was fresh and a lot were smoked and as I recall they were shipping up and down the east coast and even to London.

    Great convo
Loved the conversation about “trash fish.” Enjoyed listening to three old friends telling fish stories and sharing tons of knowledge about all kinds of species. But I bet none of them ever ate a chub! 😝

    Field-to-Table for Hunters
Hank Shaw is a knowledgeable, intelligent and curious podcast host who brings the field-to-table idea together in an entertaining way. Each episode during the second season addresses a specific upland bird species, making it a great reference when you need a refresher on how to pursue a given game bird and make the most of it in the kitchen. There is a bit of advertising during each episode, but it is done in a unobtrusive way. This is high-value, well-prepared content, so I will make an effort to buy from the sponsors who support the show.

    Great podcast
Just found this podcast and love it! Very informative. I’ve listened to the squirrel and the indigenous foods episodes so far and they were very informative. I just discovered Hank Shaw while searching for a Kentucky Burgoo recipe. The one I used was great. I hunt and process most of the meat my family uses as well as making deer tallow soap.

    Best hunting show
Thanks to Hank and his guests for putting on a show about hunting that isn’t all about antlers and trophies. These guys take their time and cover a hunting topic from habitat to gear to table without any hoop or holler. Awesome. Buy his books too.
