yoga.ahaExceptionalExceptionally worth while and fantastic. A worthy cause to celebrate and go over again the most Holmesian Jeremy Brett and the Granada series.
-

JayLukeROne of my favorite podcasts everI’ve gotten through this whole podcast series on YouTube and now I’ll be going back through on Apple Podcasts as I’m going through the canon/Granada series again for a personal academic project, it is an excellent resource for analysis, even if just from the production perspective sometimes. The passion they have for the series and the character of Sherlock is amazing, and I look forward to the next episode whenever it may happen.

RobEastIDUltimate Sherlockian JoyWHEN DO WE GET MORE NEW EPISODES? I am missing the adventure. I have been relishing the Conan Doyle magnum opus, Sherlock Holmes, for almost seven decades. I can’t count the many iterations I have consumed in print and on screen. This is the absolute best method of appreciating the various challenges and triumphs of the great detective. Not only do you get a brilliant review of the episodes, but the background knowledge in characters and screenplays is beyond belief. Simply enthralling.

AudibleAngelPerfect for meA very well produced podcast about Jeremy Brett as Sherlock Holmes. I just found it and I love it. I love all the information they give about the guest actors and what other things they have been in. I could continue gushing about this podcast, but I’ll stop for now. Thank you so much for this podcast.

Aggiefuzz97Wonderful Sherlock Podcast!I may only be 3 episodes in, but I think this is the perfect Sherlock Holmes podcast. I truly believe there is no better portrayal of a literary character than Brett’s Holmes. This podcast is EXACTLY what I was looking for, and is a fitting tribute to a wonderful actor who, though he’s been gone for too long now, continues to bring joy and happiness. Bravo gentlemen!

Bill from MinnesotaWonderful podcastHello Gentlemen. I stumbled upon your podcast by accident. I’m not even sure where I made the discovery, but I immediately searched for, found, and followed. I’ve only listened to the first two episodes, but thoroughly enjoy. I look forward to listening to all your episodes. I have loved the Sherlock Holmes stories for decades. And I was introduced to the Granada series and Jeremy Brett on PBS many years ago. I’m happy to say I own the complete series on dvd.

Living on a Thin LineSimply the BestBy far this is one of the best Sherlock Holmes podcasts available. Keep up the good works lads!

Roger Collins, EsqBrettons Rejoice!I first fell under the sway of Sherlock Holmes as a boy. When I was 10, my father gave me The Complete Sherlock Holmes Treasury in red leather—the very edition you can see Jeremy Brett carrying in some photos. When the Brett series appeared on “Mystery,” I had found my Holmes. Gus and Luke, the Mycroft and Sherlock of the air, our genial hosts, not only dive into the episodes and the canon. Their efforts bring us marvelous interviews with cast, crew, and have replicated props from the series. From Stephen Fry to Prim Hardwicke, the guests enhance the series commentary. It is, simply, a delight, informative, splendid and all one could ask. They deserve all the Persian Slippers!

GenInfPerSimply brilliantThis summer I happened upon this podcast and it motivated me to seek out the Jeremy Brett episodes of Sherlock Holmes and watch again. It has been a tremendously entertaining fools errand for me. The format of the podcast is brilliant; providing a brief summary of each episode, details on the actors that portrayed the characters and brotherly discussion on their favorite aspects of the show. They rank each episode of the series as a preview. I now realize that I should be viewing these in parallel to their stellar podcasting analysis. I am truly grateful for this podcast and feel like a more educated viewer of the Granada series for having listened to your analysis.

jhk4444Top notchTry as you might, you won’t find more engaging discussions and breadth of knowledge about the best series of Sherlock Holmes stories anywhere. Well done!
-
heyimbillwoodAn incredibly insightful companion piece to a great TV series.Like many others, I recently discovered the Jeremy Brett Sherlock Holmes series via the Internet. Of course the show is fantastic, but equally brilliant is this podcast, which brings tons of insightful analysis and behind-the-scenes info to every show. Whether you’re new to The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes or a long-time fan, you definitely owe it to yourself to check out this pod and uncover many of the series’ hidden secrets.

kristi history10 Persian slippersThis is one of the best podcasts regardless of subject. Thank you for putting so much thought and time into a timeless Sherlock. I love Jeremy performance but he does get a little too carried away with eccentricity in the later episodes, great tragedy that they didn’t begin the series sooner. With time I’ve learned to appreciate David Burke Watson a lot more.
-
Barbie PooFavorite podcast about my favorite actor.I can never get enough of Jeremy Brett! Thanks to the brothers who host and produce this podcast with so much reverence, intelligence and grace. Bravo!
-
Eager Frustrated NerdExcellently ExecutedIt’s like this show was custom made just for me! I can’t believe this exists and it is done with such excellence. Bravo!!!

Thomas O71Wonderful ReviewsThe podcasts of trip to England in 2022 with David Burke and follow up podcast of trip are the best yet. All of the podcasts are very through and informative. The knowledge of the hosts is uncanny with in depth side stories about each show reviewed. Many hours can be spent listening to the podcasts and are worth listening at several times. Best wishes to the creators.
-

TomDeanPhillipsGreat DiscussionWelcome back, guys! As soon as I heard the violin strains of the ‘Sherlock Holmes’ opening, I realized how much I’d been missing your podcast. Glad to see you haven’t been idle, and I look forward to hearing the supplemental interviews you’ve been doing. But the surest sign of the excellence of what you’ve achieved with this labor of love is how enjoyably your discussion of ‘Sign of Four’ flew by, reminding me again that your show is one of the best written and edited of all the podcasts I listen to.

EKSessions55Jeremy BrettI have collected many stories and books of Sir Author Conan Doyle and enjoy every story of Sherlock Holmes. When I watched the Granada series of Sherlock Holmes with Jeremy Brett, I can think of no one else who portrays Sherlock Holmes better than Mr. Brett. It was a very sad day when I heard of his death. No one can portray Sherlock Holmes like Jeremy Brett. God Bless You!
-
JLFansonVery Much FunFor me, Jeremy Brett gives the definitive performance of Sherlock Holmes, and the Granada production hits all the right notes. Beautifully crafted, this is Holmes at its best. The podcast provides wonderful descriptions of the episodes and loads of analysis and production details. Bravo!
-
AMB.DRfanSecond half is goodEven though I haven’t seen the JB Sherlock portrayals, the conversation is still interesting. The host’s constant pausing during the narration of the story is annoying, so I’m just skipping to the discussion half. Also, isn’t it pronounced Lestrahd and not Lestrayd? (I’m going by the Stephen Fry and Derek Jacobi audio as well as the recent BC show)
-
jpatdunPaatFact, Details, and TriflesHonestly everything I could have hoped for in a show about such a fantastic Holmes show! The hosts Gus and Luke do such great research into the production and personnel of each of the Granada episodes, and look so thoughtfully and lovingly at each and every detail and trifle of every frame of film. Always the best when a podcast host notices the same little moments you’ve been noticing in a beloved show for years, and so great to see this show bringing the worldwide community of Jeremy fans and Granada Holmes fans out of the woodwork more and more.
-
Rick VolkMust listeningIncredible depth on the peerless Jeremy Brett series.

laughiutloudGreat in-depth discussionI loved the Jeremy Brett Sherlock series and have the DVD set. I really enjoy the brothers recap of the episodes and I rewatch the episode under discussion with greater appreciation. The background on the actors is terrific. I look forward to your next installment.

SdkswifeLove love love! This is such a fun mental “getaway” for fans of Jeremy Brett, David Burke, and Edward Hardwicke-fans of the Granada series of Sherlock Holmes. Luke and Gus provide so many tidbits to each episode which shows their love, respect, and and enthusiasm for unpacking these pieces of art. As I have not bought the DVDs, but hope to buy one day, this podcast brings back the memories of watching/re-watching the episodes and reignites my love for the series and all things Jeremy Brett and Sherlock Holmes! Worth every minute to listen!!
-
Alkapal1Excellent ! EnjoyableWhat a great find on Spotify. Perfect mix of analysis, fanboying, and hearing the actual show. I loved Jeremy Brett's Sherlock when it was first on air when I was but a teenager. So it is also a bit of nostalgia for me as well.
-
re hyA real dialogue!Just hearing Patrick Gower’s theme music sends my heart to racing! Thank you to Gus & Luke (or Luke & Gus, as you wish 😉) for bringing such a well-considered recap of my personal favorite Granada series ON EARTH! It is really fun to have & know that your podcast is a dialogue and that you are truly fans interested in learning more about this phenomenon that is Sherlock Holmes - especially as portrayed by Jeremy Brett and his stalwart companion, Watson (David Burke and Edward Hardwicke)! Keep it coming! 🥰
-
BookstoreTenantLove it!Thank you for talking about the Granada Holmes! I first watched the series in high school and it is still my #1 fav of Sherlock Holmes adaptations. I look forward to listening to more discussions!
-
EnjoyingtheLightThe Best!I can’t believe I found others who see Jeremy Brett as the best Sherlock Holmes. I long have. These two fellows put together a most excellent discussion and review of the Granada productions. I have always loved and appreciated Brett’s delivery. But this podcast multiplies the pleasure of the production by ten. Very professional. I appreciate so much more.
-
e&jroberts23A great listenI’ve been a fan of Sherlock Holmes for a while now. And the first ever sherlock I ever saw was Jeremy Brett and he remains my favorite to this day. I love watching the shows and comparing them to the canonical stories which is what you are doing and it’s intriguing to hear the tidbits and fun facts that you throw in there along the way. It’s truly an amazing listen and I can spend hours just listening along a laughing at the great commentary. Amazing work can’t wait for more episodes!!
-
dobbidobbinsExcellent insights to the original seriesAudio of the original series with Jeremy Brett, the best Sherlock Holmes EVER with side commentary about Jeremy Brett and details about the production of the show. This is a excellent podcast.
-
lhart8udTremendous detailThe details that support each episode are excellent, and add so much depth of understanding. Have enjoyed each episode again and again.
-
sportsAficionadoGreat Podcast about the Remarkable Granada seriesStumbled upon this gem of a podcast last week and I’m seriously impressed. I’ve been a Sherlock Holmes fan for well over 40 years and a big fan of the Granada series with Jeremy Brett. Unfortunately I haven’t watched them since they were first released and I now I need to buy the collection. For years I always thought Basil Rathbone was the quintessential “Holmes” but after watching Jeremy Brett’s take, that all changed. What’s also great about the Grenada series is that they stay 98% true and faithful to the stories of the canon and not Hollywood-ized with their own take on the story. Well done gentlemen. It’s great to see a new generation of fans that follow and love the original stories from the canon.
-
ohloman10/10 Persian slippersThere is a plethora of Sherlock Holmes content available. Jeremy Brett’s Holmes rises above the crowd, as does this podcast. It is well worth your time, and if you consider yourself in the least bit to be a Sherlockian, it is essential.
-
Too much elementaryYawnJust play the audio. Side boobbs. The analysis has some merit but is over baked by knowledgeable fans, true. Great for sleepless nights.
-
ERFrankeQuite a three pipe show!Luke and Gus, brothers, creatives, industry insiders and partners in crime have created an amazing podcast with an ambitious agenda to explore each episode of the Granada Sherlock Holmes series starring Jeremy Brett and to deeply discuss why it is one of the best things ever and for all time. They have a terrific structure for the show and show deep knowledge of production and workmanlike investment in research and deep enthusiasm for all the relevant elements of each Holmes episode even when their personal knowledge falls short. Every one of their episodes is a perfectly imperfect mix of thought, analysis, opinion and most of all love for this timeless series. Best of all, it has taught me a lot and made me go back to revisit Holmes episodes. I cannot wait to hear each new podcast episode and I am making sure I have watched ahead in the old series to make sure I am ready for their presentation! Thank you Gus and Luke! You are doing amazing work! If I could, I’d walk arm and arm with you down Baker Street like Holmes and Watson in the Resident Patient humming Beethoven and talking all things Jeremy!
-
Matthew in ArkansasExcellent for Brettiacs!I found the Jeremy Brett shows at my grandmother’s house a few years ago. She loved all sorts of mysteries, and I remember Poirot, Murder She Wrote, and others at her house. But once I started teaching 8th grade English a few years ago, I stumbled again on the Holmes stories and became hooked on the Grenada series. Gus and Luke do a great job diving into the Doyle stories and the Grenada adaptations. The trivia and backstory notes are fascinating, and they have caused me to watch these classics again and again. Thanks for the great work-I look forward to the next episode!
-
KB31Huge fan!Really enjoy the show and this podcast is excellent for us fans! Thank you for making it!

Memeworks23Outstanding podcastSimply one of the best. Even though I’ve seen the Granada series multiple times, this podcast has given me fresh eyes with which to enjoy them all over again and revel in the details.
-
LvsmmartinSuperb!Great pod-cast. This venue brings Jeremy Brett’s portrayal of Sherlock Homes to such an interesting conversation and is a must for any Sherlock Holmes fan.
-
Zederick BardensA Surprise TreatI have been a big fan of Jeremy Brett’s Sherlock Holmes since I was eleven years old. The first episode I saw was “The Solitary Cyclist.” I thought Brett as Holmes was the coolest man I had ever seen, especially in the scene where he boxes Woodley. I have watched the series multiple times; it never gets old. I am thankful to have stumbled upon this podcast. It’s a pleasure to listen to Gus and Luke discuss each episode with so much respect for Jeremy Brett’s craft and with eyes for the many details in each episode. Well done!
