    Perfection
I usually prefer a multi-episode series rather than an anthology with a different story in each episode but WOW, has this made me a believer in the format. First-rate acting, writing, editing, sound design, production, direction, you name it. How they can hook me and tell a complete story from start to finish in such a short amount of time is beyond me. There are some seriously talented people behind this pod. Plus, I learned about Ireland! I hope they make many more seasons.

    Really strong writing and acting
A horror podcast that’s actually scary?! What is this, season one of the magnus archives??? Petrified is great. Strong writing and voice acting. Not every episode is a home run, but that’s the joy of anthology style podcasts. Turn it off and move onto the next one.

    Well-Produced and Acted
This really is a delight; so many horror shows lean into camp when you bring in a ful cast and crew, but not this one. The stories are surprising, vivid, and yes, scary. I hope I’m not finding this show too late and that more will come. I understand this kind of production takes time and money, so I will hope that’s why the gaps in release, rather than the Dead Podcast Void (the scariest thing of all)!

    Aptly-Named, Truly Petrifying Podcast
Just discovered this podcast a few days ago (as I’m always on the lookout for new scary things), and I was instantly hooked. As someone who’s been a horror fan since childhood, I’m quite difficult to scare…yet—with Petrified (especially Melody’s Story Hour), I simply couldn’t get through an episode without shuddering. Everyone involved with this show does such an incredible job of creating a nightmarishly immersive atmosphere. Would highly recommend to other horror fans and anyone who appreciates brilliant storytelling.

One of the better horror podcasts
Horror podcasts generally aren’t very good. It’s very easy for them to come off as incredibly narmy and amateurish. This is true for the horror genre as a whole, but non-visual forms of horror can really struggle with it in particular. This show isn’t perfect, but it’s way better than a lot of the other ones you’ll find. I’ve genuinely enjoyed listening to it, even if one or two stories have made me roll my eyes at parts. It’s legitimately creative and inventive so far, and isn’t just retreading old ground. It definitely scratched my itch for scary stories!

    HORROR FROM THE EMERALD ISLAND
This podcast stands out from similar horror story genre podcasts for two reasons. It has more of the feel of an old-time radio show than other podcasts. I’m not sure exactly what gives it that edge, maybe it’s less narration and more interaction of the characters? Either way I think it’s a lot of fun and the stories have creepy twists with good pacing. The second thing that sets Petrified apart: it’s Irish (Eirinn go Brach!)so you get the accent which is lovely for a horror podcast. The voice actors are impeccable. I will certainly share with my fellow horror listeners.
