I love your content, but either you need better quality mics, or yalls voices are not cut out for podcasts. Not sure which one it is but the sound quality sounds very high pitched.

I listen to a lot of podcasts and this one has it all. Fun narration. Good banter. Interesting stories and subject matter. No matter what you believe - the stories are handled with humor, grace, and signature style. Thank you so much for putting your efforts into this podcast! It’s spooky, funny, and awesome!

The hosts are so enjoyable personality wise, I wanted to give this five stars. However, there’s some issues that dissuades me from following. The big one is the volume disparity between the two hosts. The gentleman has to be many steps above the other host which led me to turning up, then down, then up, then down, then up etc my volume and getting treated to ear drum blasts after the lady stopped talking and the man started. If the audio volume could be normalized, that’d go a long way. Secondly, though not as big of an issue for me, was that it seems they dance around the topic for 20-30 minutes of just long rambling and “jokes”. I found myself getting impatient, and generally I’m not put off too much by beginning of episode rambling; it just seemed to continue for a third of the episode. If you have audio adjusting headphones and don’t mind the first part just being a loooong set up, this podcast is really enjoyable once they get to the meat. I would still recommend checking it out.

The material is interesting, but the bad audio quality is so distracting. The male host sounds like he’s talking on a cell phone with iffy service; the female host sounds better so it appears she’s recording as they talk to each other on the phone? He doesn’t have a good voice for podcasting either, not trying to be rude just telling it like it is.

This podcast is exciting, spooky, and all around a good time. They cover many differing subjects and I feel like I learn some weird new thing each time.

hands down and extremely fun and awesome take ok paranormal information gathering and sharing. Amanda and Dakota show vast knowledge and journalism skills while story telling in a lighthearted, fun and spooky way. keep the stories coming. -J-

This podcast makes me feel like I’m sitting around a bonfire hearing spooky stories from new friends––the audio quality isn’t fantastic but the content is exactly what I needed during the socially-distant hellscape we’re currently living in.

The show is great to listen to while at work in the car or just relaxing at home. The eerie vibe each story gives makes you want to listen more and more.

Dakota and Amanda sound like your best friends. They are both just as nice when you talk to them. They do the research instead of just guessing. I’ve been binging since Dakota told my husband about it.

I had this show recommened to me and from the first episode it felt like a conversation with friends. It feels like you're included--not eavesdropping. The subjects are interesting and by the end of each I want more. And I can't wait for the next one.

When it comes to the supernatural, the unexplained and the unknown, Amanda and Dakota are on the case! Encounters: A Paranormal Experience takes a dive into the history of horrors such as Amityville, haunted locales like The Stanley Hotel, and even mythical creatures like The Sexy Demon Incubus. You’ll hear a lot of information and facts on the show, as Dakota and Amanda enlighten listeners on the various historical testaments. Unlike more serious and darker podcasts, Encounters takes a lighter approach to these topics. You’ll oftentimes hear Amanda and Dakota make jokes and keep the mood from getting too creepy. For curious mind, but faint of heart, you should find solace here. Perhaps what makes Encounters such an effective show are not just the content, but the hosts themselves. Amanda and Dakota have wonderful radio voices, they can switch between smooth and concise, to chilling and serious, to ambient and light hearted. What differentiates Encounters from other podcasts most especially, is how with each episode, the line between the reality of fact and the mystery of fiction starts to blur. I think Amanda and Dakota themselves struggle to decide if these supernatural occurrences actually have merit. Which in itself is an outstanding way to tell a story, albeit a horrifying way as well - leaving listeners anxiously laughing but all the well contemplating that these paramount situations may have happened. If you are looking for a light hearted, informative, and entertaining approach to the supernatural, I highly recommend you give Encounters a listen. Apart from other supernatural shows out there that have a hard time balancing tone, Encounters does a fantastic job of keeping listeners entertained, philosophical, and on the edge of their seats without getting too uneasy. Thanks Amanda and Dakota for the wonderful show, I am looking forward to hearing more episodes soon.
