Mofongo from NYCAmazing website—So grateful!I found this wonderful website through my Rabbi who suggested this as a resource for my conversion to Judaism. I look forward to every new episode as well as past ones. There is such a variety of topics that spark my interest in so many areas. I am very grateful for this opportunity to learn and understand Jewish Religious culture and values. I also am grateful for the JewCurious staff for doing their part to expose antisemitism through their signs and resources on their website.

j sisenwineWeddings , episode 354Love the podcast but found this episode deeply disparaging of rabbis and even the Jewish tradition. I thought you could have addressed the topic with more love and nuance. Disappointing
-
yeueixheiYou can be spiritual and not a “believer”I struggle with the connective feelings I long for from faith. This pod and the huge collection of conversations help me keep the big questions in the front of mind, and I deeply appreciate the eagerness to wrestle with topics in the grey area of life.

Lisa MoriahEducating and LiberatingAs a “Jewishly inclined” person who has hesitated to formally convert only because of my less-than-traditional ideas, this podcast has taught me so much and helped me see that yes, there is ample room for divergent thinkers within Judaism. I am indebted to the Judaism Unbound team (and guests!) for enriching my understanding of many facets of Judaism and solidify my decision to convert. Looking forward to many more episodes!

IroniBFocusGood subject matter but rambling long questions and comments make me wait for him to get to the point.

KR '14Got me into Jewish podcastsThanks for doing this. With so many different topics covered, this is such an amazing resource. I’ve learned so much from y’all, and this got me listening to other Jewish podcasts as well. Thank you!

lively LiverThoughtful, informed, and stretching ideasLove this … learning and thinking each new podcast shakes loose my dusty thoughts and sends me deeper and broader. Truly makes an impact on my life and thoughts.
-
maxandtheorangeListen! This podcast is exactly what I was looking for to engage in Judaism in the way I’ve always wanted to. Don’t quite have the right words to describe that. You guys have introduced me to so many awesome scholars and orgs, too. Thank you thank you!

Lena Ruth SThis podcast is so importantI found Judaism Unbound a couple years ago and have been desperately trying to catch up since then, I wish I had known about it sooner. Not because I am behind, but because it brings so much life and vibrancy to my thinking on such a broad range of topics and ways of being in the world. I notice that when I don’t listen to JU for a while, I often fall into old traps of “not Jewish enough” or “not doing Jewish right” or “don’t know enough to be really Jewish.” But as 2021 comes to a close I am reflecting on how my belief in those claims directly decreases in proportion to how much I listen to this podcast, and how frequently I can remember that exists as a place to validate such a myriad of ways of being Jewish. I strongly recommend this podcast to anyone feeling the least bit curious, fired up, alienated by, enraged by, in love with, despondent about, indifferent to, etc etc, the Judaisms you have come across, and want to explore a new way in. Thank you Dan and Lex for making a space for so many important conversations.

BreannaJaneeMy aha moment…I have danced around the idea of Judaism/converting for years. It’s never been completely earnest, in all honesty. Nevertheless, my curiosity has been on the upslope as of late, and then..this. I inadvertently listened to episode 300, and in walks my aha moment. I wasn’t looking for this class or anything, but it found me *right on time*. This particular podcast really shines a spotlight on the broad depth of Judaism, and now I have that “itch” to want to know more, immerse myself, ingest more, etc., and I am very appreciative for this. Hidden gems!
-
mshaw26A favorite podcastI’m not Jewish but interested and this podcast is mind-blowing. The idea of engaging and loving one’s religion by questioning it and exploring any answer is novel to me and is so beautiful about this podcast.
-
Khesed BeinSo pumped for shmita!!I returned to this podcast a few weeks ago and I’ve been loving listening to the backlog. I’ve especially connected to the unit on trans Jews. It was really cool to hear several of my role models talk about trans experience and Judaism in such empowering and healing ways. I’m really excited for the seasonal units on Elul and Shmita!!
-
salvequidagishodieLove this podLove all your episodes, your series on transness in Judaism especially was moving and helpful for me. Highly recommend!
-
WestsideJeffA Jewish LifelineI’ve had negative family experiences related to Judaism. I’ve had family members tell me I was too Jewish and others reject me for being not being Jewish enough. As a 47 year old man, I still feel very anxious around my identity. But this podcast highlights that I’m not alone. Thank you.
-
jonn_msftFor those with a taste for heresyJudaism Unbound is a weekly two-host talk show on religious topics. The tenor is very speculative and non-Orthodox, so be ready for a bit of heresy.
-
chabad fanThe BibleI’m really enjoying this series on the Bible. Great conversations with your guests.
-
mildwomanMy favorite Jewish podcastI continue to learn and grow as a Jew-in-progress with the incredible range of topics, nuanced conversations, thoughtful and wise guests, and expert inquiry from Dan and Lex. So grateful that I found your podcast!

-
truegriffinforeverJewish adaptationsStill wanted to leave a comment that you are my favorite Jewish podcast still! Love how in-depth your team is going into each subject. My second reason for leaving a review is because I’m finding the need for adaptation within Jewish practice very relevant right now with the spread of the corona virus. My shul just shut down Saturday Shabbat services, sent out a video of our shpiel and other unusual practices. Perhaps you guys are thinking about this but thought I would bring it up. Thanks for al the work you do!
-
Gracie NSuddenly my favorite podcastSuch inspiring and provocative conversations that touch on what it is to be a person, to form intentional community, to brave a changing world with an understanding of the past that envisions a future both intentional and flexible. I’m glad I started listening late in the game because any day I want to be inspired to new thoughts and action, I have hundreds of episodes to choose from. I’m a two-years-in-the-making Jewish convert, and of all the material I’ve sought out in this time (books, podcasts, and more), Judaism Unbound shines brightest. Not only do I learn so much about the Jewish world and Jewish ways of thinking both cultural and spiritual - I feel welcome to participate and engage with these ideas and communities. Everything Dan, Lex, and their guests discuss truly inspires me and I hungrily listen every chance I get.
-
Ludey ChrisI’m in/amenReally appreciated the last four episodes on disorganized Judaism, and especially the unit wrap. Such a fascinating conversation. As a day school head in SF, this is literally my community—the vanguard of Jewish identity in so many ways. I’m grateful for the thought-provoking engagement.
-
AV vancouverOk ,Hits and missesOften very thoughtful and entertaining But sometimes seems like like hosts let guests escape with lack of nuance and being too much in love with their worldview with out engaging in debate Somewhat different from real life Jewish conversation
-
09763885927Wow I am loving Judaism Unbound! This podcast gives you an insight into modern Jewish thought. For me it has opened my mind up to what it means to be Jewish and it has given me hope that Judaism is going to continue to be a faith that shapes our world. Keep doing what you're doing guys. I love this podcast!

DocmurdochEngaging Dvars from Reform Jewish LeaderRabbi Rick Jacobs is the president of the Reform Jewish movements preeminent organization the URJ. He is both an intellectual powerhouse and a gifted communicator. The next best thing to hearing him in person is this podcast series. He discusses the moral and ethical issues that are raised in each week's Torah portion. Not only does he make them relevant for today, but Rabbi Jacobs easily calls upon the history of Jewish thought from the Talmud through Rabbi Lawrence Kushner. And if that were not enough, each podcast is a concise 10 to 15 minutes long. Few deep thinkers are able to deliver so much in a short time.
-
bluemichellelaBoundless imagination and insightI have been listening to this podcast for a few months now -- and going back to listen to some of the many episodes I missed. The guests cover a wide spectrum within the Jewish world, from well-known writers and rabbis to lesser- or unknown mavericks and seekers. The hosts are intelligent and curious, searching for meaning and depth in the Jewish heritage as we collectively recreate it anew (as it has been recreated many times before), moving forward now in the 21st century, diverse Jews among the gloriously diverse streams of world humanity. No political or spiritual topic is off-limit for discussion, from Israel/Palestine to the nature of God. Critiques enter and have their needed place but the focus is on vision and pathways forward, with questions (the Jewish way), and wonder, and love.
-
Emma DawsonIntellectual, sometimes too much so.These guys frustrate me, now and again. And that is why I keep listening.
-
MakoinjaUnbound It IsAs a convert in process, I started listening to this podcast to learn more about Judaism. I've gained a lot of insight about current trends in Judaism and the boundless ways to be and think Jewish. I love the openness to many points of view.
-
Eddles!MenschIgnorant, reality detached Israeli politics undermine proposed creative ways to rethink American Jewish institutions in America
-
sabramowitzBig-hearted Jewish loveI started out this podcast tentatively but I've listened to every episode. These guys crack open the reality that none of us Jews really know what the hell is going on, and we're not really cool with that. Their guests are at the top of their game for Jewish innovation, and I feel newly liberated to shake up my own alienated dissatisfaction with Judaism as it is by creating new ways of being and doing. Keep up the good work, guys. This podcast is the closest to the synagogue that I have.
-
rachelidaGreat.I am continually inspired and amused (inmused?) by this podcast. I try to listen on Shabbat bc it’s part of my imagined Jewish future.
-
Nickname4WWWGreat stuff!Episode after episode, there’s such interesting, entertaining, and world expanding content. They explore my people, history, religion, and the future of Judaism in ways I had never heard, and often had never even thought of! Great stuff!!
-
jodiK!Thank G-d for Dan and Lex!I have been listening to JU form the beginning. What these guys are doing - the people they are interviewing, the quetsions that are asking, the connections they are making - will lead us from our time of wandering into the next era of Judaism.
-
DoikaytThe Best Jewish PodcastStupendous.
-
Rabbi liZzWonderful!I’ve been listening to Judaism Unbound since episode one, and it has aged like a fine wine, getting more complex and delicious with the passing time. I often pull ideas for sermons and teachings out of the episodes, and have been so excited about some episodes (like the most recent series on Reform Judaism), that I feel compelled to share the links from Congregation Ner Shalom’s Facebook page and encourage more regular listeners. As Judaism and Jewish communities continue to evolve in the 21st century, it is clear that Judaism Unbound will help lead Jewish media into this new era!
-
hollygosoftlyinspiring and ground-breaking conversations about Judaism todayI can't get enough of this podcast! It has opened my mind to so many new and different ways of doing Judaism, and given me confidence in my own sense of belonging in the Jewish community. Thank you Dan and Lex!
-

SyfirezMy Judaism unbound is a realized Messianic ExperienceI've been listening for over a year. I always hear you guys get halfway there "people are leaving Judaism because ....." and for me I'm always yelling out "because you don't see our Jewish messiah, the one on the cross who liberated us from the chains of the oral law and traditions" listen I'm not talking about Christianity and their pagan roman Hellenistic cultural system. I'm talking messianic Judaism, it's so liberating. I wish you would cover this as a legitimate form of Judaism - a Judaism that was unbound 2000 years ago. I personally do not do Christmas or Easter, we follow the biblical high holy days and embrace you all as our brothers with love. Come to us and we will come to you and together we can unbind the millions out there where Judaism has failed for them. I believe Christianity is experiencing the same exodus, I believe people are leaving Judaism and Christianity and coming to the middle holding up the Torah and holding up the cross

sbbEZas123Love it!Anybody with an academic fascination with Judaism and/or modern discourse will love this podcast. Dan is inspiring in person and on the podcast. You're luck my to get to learn from him!

NDCARMINDCARMIWell...I have not heard such good conversations in a LONG LONG time. This is the next Talmud. First we got the written torah Then we got the Oral Torah and now we are getting the Recorded Torah Thank you
-
doctoraaronEssentialThis podcast is required listening for anyone exploring how to maintain and enliven Judaism as we move through the21st century. A listening group for synagogue members or boards of directors of Jewish organizations would be a great use of the podcast though I just listen while walking the dog!
-
Buttered pieThe Best PodcastBeen fundamental in shaping my entire Jewish perspective and have articulated that which I have been trying to grasp for years. Can not recomend this podcast enough!
-
Mbc52486Just what I've been looking forThis podcast is exactly what I've been looking for. It asks beautiful, deep and important questions. All surrounding the theme of "why/how to be Jewish today". It has illuminated to me so many new and people, companies and programs that share my same interest and investigation of Jewish identity, ritual and culture. Simply the best. Also, if you listen to it at "2x" speed it makes it even better!
-
lawsonsjLove itI love this podcast. We live in the 21 century and I'm so glad these guys are finding new and exciting ways to engage the Jewish community about Judaism
